    'You Know Too Much...'

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by Patrick94, Jun 9, 2011.

There was an episode of "The Simpsons" before where Homer had a sort of internet blog, on which he posted people's secrets. Then some sort of secret government thing abducts him because he knows too much. He's brought to a desert island. There are other people there, but the only one I can remember is a guy who invented a bottomless bag of peanuts.

What I want to know is what was this episode based on? Be careful about your answer, you might be next...

Oh, crap. I know the name of this! I remember talking about it on another forum! >.<

THE PRISONER! That's it! I haven't seen it, but if you look up the opening for it... MAAAAN, was the opening terrible. Should be on YouTube.

(I found the title because I remembered the bit at the end of the opening where the MC shouts, "I am not a number!" so I looked up that quote. :p)

This seems like a safe bet. (Haha I'm pretty sure Strangetown from The Sims game is based on that, too.)

Sounds a little bit like The Prisoner.

Sure it was Number of the beast? The intro there is the good, old "Who to you, O earth and sea" and all that. The song "The prisoner" starts with

    "We want information, information, information."
    "Who are you?"
    "The new number two."
    "Who is number one?"
    "You are number six."
"I am not a number, I am a free man."

The song is 'The Prisoner'. However, it is on the Number of the Beast album, so you're not completely off.

Good album. 22 Acacia Avenue is a great song. Still, Killers is their best work.

Not to get off topic, but no, their best work is Somewhere in Time without a doubt.

Yeah hate to derail, but while I like Somewhere in Time quite a bit, Killers has long been at the top of my list. Their last few have been quite good as well. And while Killers is my favorite on the whole, they have so much good stuff that it is hard to go wrong with most any of their albums.

    Right guys, this is important.

Can someone tell me either what was the name of the episode, or better still, the number? Any help would be seriously appreciated

Okay, I saw the episode, I'm guessing the koala bears and flamingos had something to do with the tv series The Prisoner. Having looked that up, is there any other tv shows/books/films etc that deal with the theme of that 'island'?

It's been a while since I've played the Sims 1 or 2 (currently addicted to Sims 3), but yeah, definitely a safe bet. They're the only area with "aliens" and spaceships in them. Among other things questionable things...
