    Two Questions Four Words

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by gwilson, May 1, 2013.

spatial or spacial? -What’s the difference?

triaxle or triaxial? -I’m trying to describe a tank tread, from a side-view, that is not the common parallel shape, but shaped like a triangle.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Spatial and spacial mean the same thing, so either is fine.

Triaxle, would mean it has three axles.
Triaxial, would mean pertaining to three axises (presumably: X, Y, and Z)

Thank you for clearing up my question over spatial and spacial.

The robot's tread mechanism would have a three axises (three axles at x,y points, if viewed from a side view schematic,) but it also has three axles - as opposed to a common tank's two or four at the front and back of the tank.

So, I am still torn about which to use, or if there is a better way to describe the robot's tread band.

I've never seen it spelled axises. It's axes.
