    English Teen

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by RubyRoo, May 25, 2008.

Yes I am a teenager from England...Well, if that hasn't totally put you off, hello!
I'm not entirely sure what I should put here. Just that I mainly write short stories (and English coursework essays!) and, of course, as a teenage girl who likes writing, I dabble into fanfiction and I generally have a passion for writing.
When I'm not typing away, you can usually find me avoiding GCSE revision, being arty, dancing, watching select TV shows and films I have become addicted to and talking non-stop.

    Hi!
If anyone should be put off by you being an English teen, it's me because I'm Welsh. ;) But I'm not put off and I see no reason for anyone else to be, so welcome to the forum!
I'm almost 13 and I live in Port Talbot, South Wales!

I'm a Doctor Who and Torchwood fan...How could I not love Wales?!
Plus there is the small details of friends and distantly related family members also being Welsh..but obviously DW and TW take precedence!

I love DW and TW! The blinking Eurovision song contest was on instead of DW yesterday, though! :(

I know! And next episode is when Jack comes back, and Moffatt wrote it, so you know it will be amazing!

Hello RubyRoo, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

Are you also a fan of American cartoons? I have to ask because of your choice of user name.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate.

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!

    Thanks for the info!
I chose my name because everyone calls me Roo or RubyRoo, not my actual name Rowan, due to nicknames derived from Winnie the Pooh for some unknown reason!
