Entire course materials from MIT online for FREE

Discussion in 'Research' started by jannert, Apr 26, 2014.

Just was made aware of this incredible resource, and investigated it. I don't have much use for detailed engineering research in any of my writing, but some threads indicate that other people do.

MIT (Massachussetts Institute of Technology - one of the most reputable engineering schools in the world) has put its course materials from nearly all of its courses online ...for free!

I'm in the UK, and was able to access this, which was also a pleasant surprise.

Anyway, for those of you with extraordinary engineering-type brains:

Yes, an amazing resource. I've been starting (slowly) to work my way through the mathematics section here and at Khan Academy.

Stanford and Harvard offer free lectures on YouTube as well. They have some great stuff on literature in addition to math, science, etc.

The MIT online resource is great. Course materials aren't the whole story,of course. Interaction with fellow students and with the professor are an important element of college studies. But if you have the requisite background foundation, those courses are a great way to come up to speed on a new subject, and are also great for a refresher.
