Once again, Death Note is one of those animes that are unique and very entertaining but unfortunately fell into the mainstream of animes

New Discussion - Old School Anime

During the time of Astro Boy all the way up to the end of the Midnight Run on Toonami.

Anyone remember Outlaw Star and Gundam 0089? Or even Neon Genesis Evangelion?

A classic. I'd still watch it if it continued to air on Adult Swim but they took it off a while ago to put new anime on the line-up (at the time, 06')

Old school anime...I guess Captain Tsubasa...I watched the original when I was a kid and a few years ago there was a remake.

Mmmm, Saint Seiya is another old one I watched. Ranma 1/2 too but I don't think it's that old.

I agree Speed Racer is on the page of old. There's also a 90's Speed Racer anime too I believe which was the one I grew up on.

Ranma 1/2 is another weird one to me. Doesn't the guy have a sex change or something and can talk to pandas?

The MC changes sex when water touches him and his dad changes into a panda and communicates through written signs.

    ^ Sounds bizzare...

The 90's Speed Racer was decent, but I'll always have a place in my heart for the original.

    (I'm freaking bored!)

I know I watched Speed Racer, because I still remember the song but I don't remember any episode.

    How so?

Also, I like Naruto, Bleach, Code Geass, and Black Cat. And I like DBZ back in the day.

There's nothing wrong with liking mainstream anime/manga, I like Bleach too. The problem is that people make it up to be a big deal when it's not, people stop seeing beyond it.

It is awesome, it's got a great story line and great art in the manga and great animation. But the fact that so many people like it, just because someone else likes it and the only opinion they can give of it is that it's awesome detaches from it.
