OMG my eldest will be after that. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo One was bad two was just painful. My daughter does nothing but watch that and hannah Bloody Montana. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh
Lol, I agree. I hate everything about Disney Channel, but wish I owned it. They're making bank off of today's generation.
No. Not High school musical. For some reason I cringe everytime there is singing. In a movie. Except for the episode once more with feeling on BTVS. The only thing I cringes at was Anyas Bunnies song. LOL Hopefully going to the cinemas tomorrow night. And I wanted to watch that silly superheros movie. Something like that, can't remember the title but it's a funny one- you know, like those crappy... Scary movie and Epic MOvie thing. ah. I'm determined to go to the movies. ><
Don't do that to yourself DOZ! Watching Superhero Movie is known to drop one's IQ by 36 points within the hour and a half it plays. Seriously, save yourself the agony and don't watch it!
I also loved Juno, didn't think it was a chick flick though. I loved its originality and quirky characters - it wasn't really what I had expected, but made me laugh a lot. Hated Sweeney Todd, it was incredibly disappointing and not at all what I had expected. Far more gory than I'd realised, and I couldn't understand a lot of the singing meaning a lot of the movie made no sense. Just found it to be very depressing and left me feeling very 'blah'. ETA: I enjoy gore and horror films, but I wasn't expecting so much from that movie.
An episode of Oprah was on one afternoon where the Hannah Montana girl went backstage and met a large crowd of fans - all little girls, and they were crying and hugging each other as she sang to them. So Disney has brainwashed the children! Americans overreact to everything (no offence), but it still was a little disconcerting. Also, there was another American show on here recently where a group of kids had to run a goldrush town on their own. I can't remember what it was called, but some of the breakdowns on that were a little extreme. So I really think a majority of Disney's child-teen programs are ruining the minds of many youths. Question: is Oprah a daytime show in the US?
Another film I really liked was A Brave One. I found it a very powerful movie with a brilliant conclusion and she got the dog back too. Seriously though I really do recommend The Brave One.
Yeah Oprah is a daytime show. And you're totally right, the big thing here is big. Hannah Montanah could become the next president with all her popularity. Oh, and when you say something like (no offense), that usually means you're about to say something offensive. Haha, good thing I'm not offendable.
Its one of those films that stays in your mind for a while after watching. Its very sad but the ending is just one hell of a Beautiful ending. Its rare a built up film gets the correct ending but The Brave One certainly is brilliant and intense from start to finish.
Anyone seen the film 'Jacob's Ladder'? that is one of my favoute films ever. Also, 'Johnny got his Gun' and 'Misery' are fantastic.
I've only seen Misery's trailer, but I've read the book. I pereferred the book...the woman who plays Annie's role doesn't really know how to act.
I was very impressed with her in Misery, I've never seen her in anything else, however, I felt she was fine in the role of Anne Wilks. Also, you prefure the book having not seen the film? I'd recomend giving the film a viewing, it is highly enjoyable (I am strange and with Stephen King novels, I nearly always like the films over the books) and the Sledgehammer moment really makes me cringe in a kind of 'Hope it never happons to me' fear that I never had reading the novel which I found a bit on the dull side.
After reading the book, I didn't feel the woman who played Annie suited the part. And I just saw the trailer of Misery in youtube But I always prefer books over movies anyway.
That's fine, but the big screen too is also a fine medium when used in a proper way. I wouldn't completely cross the film out, it is very good.
