I like focuswriter for the typewriter sounds.

 

How do you apply that? Mine is silent.

 

On my Mac version, the typewriter sounds need to be turned on in the preferences, in the first "General" pane.

 

Got nothing like that on the windows version. Weird. Just the settings and things like that.

 

It's fantastic. I don't use anything else.

 

According to the "Release Notes", they should be there for a long time by now. I also see screenshots of the Windows version with the typewriter sound option. Maybe you just have a really old version?

 

I just found it, it turns out it was under preferences this whole time...
