    Copy Wright Question

Discussion in 'Plot Development' started by TheDarkWriter, Aug 13, 2014.

Does anyone know if the Story Aladdin is strictly owned by by Disney? I ask because I'm considering writing a story involving the story of Aladdin and I don't want to cross any legal lines.

    Firstly, it's "copyright"
Second, if anyone had the rights to Aladdin it would be Scheherazade and she was both never alive and dead for 300 years or so.

'Aladdin' is a really old fairytale, which isn't under copyright. But Disney version, which is significantly different than the original, might be.
