    Hello I'm new!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Beth, Feb 15, 2008.

    Hello to all,
my name is Beth and I'm Italian. I usually write in my own language but I find this site and forum really useful for tips...
I'm presently in the process of building my first serious novel.
So wait for me to post somewhere soon.

    :p

benvenuto, beth!... where in italy do you live?... i've been to many parts of my maternal grandparents' country over decades of world travel and lived in nemi [just south of castello gandolfo] for a while...

if you need any help with translations or anything writing-related, i provide that for many who write in more than one language [gratuito, naturalmente], so don't hesitate to drop me a line any time...

Beth, welcome to the forum. Looks like you have a real handle on English - I wish my Spanish was as good...

Hey! I'm from the seaside of Rome, a town maybe you've heard of, it's called Ostia.

Thanks for the welcome messages! :)

Hello Beth, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well!

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
