He's been in a lot of movies. What are some of your favorites?

Bruce Almighty, probably. The runners-up are probably Yes Man and Liar Liar, though I admit I haven't watched all of them and it's been a a while since I've watched a few of the others too. One that isn't really that funny, but might very well be his best performance, is in my mind A Christmas Carol.

Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty, and Dumb & Dumber. He's like Will Ferrell for me...very hit or miss.

What's the name of the one with Bill Murray in it and not Jim Carrey?

Nothing will ever touch 'Ace Ventura Pet Detective', it was the funniest movie I've ever seen, at the time. I love the sequel, 'Dumb and Dumber', 'Liar Liar', 'Cable Guy', 'Yes Man'. Not a fan of the 'Mask' though and I still haven't seen 'The Eternal Sunshine...'

I've never seen a comedian work harder than Jim Carrey did in the Ace Ventura movies. There wasn't a single second while he was on screen that he wasn't doing some bit of business. The man is dedicated.

I also think Liar, Liar and Dumb and Dumber are hilarious.

I would have to go with Me, Myself, and Irene. Some of the lines that come in that movie surprise you so much you spit your pop out on people. Renee Zellweger probably looked the best she ever has in that movie too.

Thanks for all the replies. Those are all great movies mentioned in the posts above. The movie I watch the most is Yes Man.

This scene was quite funny :D

I also remember The Mask as quite funny, but I watched it more than 10 years ago... :)

I love Jim Carrey. I know a lot of people may shake their head at this, but he's one of those actors that draw me to a movie, especially if it's comedy. I'm looking forward to Dumb and Dumber To! :p

Best ones in my opinion are (in order of release):

    Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
    Liar Liar
    The Truman Show
(not funny, it's a drama, but he's excellent in it. Possibly his best role)
    Me, Myself and Irene
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
(again, very good in this romantic drama)
I also like his role in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone

Just watched The Truman Show; which I've been wanting to see for a long, long time; and it was as good, if not better, than my good expectations of it, and it's now possibly my favourite of his movies, and after looking at a lot of the other good candidates other than the ones I mentioned as well, such as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, I Love You Phillip Morris, Me Myself and Irene, The Mask, Cable Guy and the Ace Venturas to mention a few.

I think his best roles are the ones that aren't particularly all that funny:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
    The Truman Show
    The Number 23

The first time I saw Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, I thought it was way too stupid.

But the second time I watched it, I was in the mood for really stupid, foolish comedy. Hence I enjoyed it much more.

This movie is my favorite Jim Carrey movie, although Dumb and Dumber is a close second, in my view.
