    Gannon Winner Of The 50th Peotry Contest

    The Gilgamesh Summary: A Celebration in Sound
    By Gannon

    Some assiduous sound study led me to think
    of a time and a place, when prosody met ink.

    A verbose union shrouds that wizened pact
    with the often obscure and the always abstract.

    The universe hums in resonant nonchalance
    to creation’s onomatopoeic response.

    In summary, the monosyllabic beware;
    so concludes my abridged, phonetic love-affair.

    That was, in all senses of the word, brilliance. Sheer brilliance. Some real talent there mate. The skill overshadows any pretentiousness that could be perceived. Honestly, I was takenaback mate.

    I'll stop the arse kissing now!ha. But the sincerity is there.
