Aren't there cliffs that are right next to the ocean. Don't they count? And it snows at out beaches. But because of the salt it never freezes. I don't think it's physically possible.
Nup, they don't count. Never gets cold enough on cliffs, they're always exposed to the harsh aussie elemates and climate.
Hmm... But doesn't global warming cause both extremes of the weather. So more than likely you will get snow there. Maybe not in your lifetime. Or even our great grandchildren.
Don't you hear those voices too? My mom says that if i take my medication I'm not a threat to anyone.
I actual do hear voices then I write. It helps me create dialog. I have never had a problem with having two different characters seem alike. They all have their own voice that tells me what to say for them. Its something that some authors have.
I guess it might. Though someday, you will be talking to yourself as well. Then you might understand. Though you might have alltimers by then.
I'm impressed by your young age, most new writers don't take it seriously at first. I was only dabbling a bit in writing at 12. Since you are young, I'll give you some advice, heh. Don't listen to people, especially on the internet. People can offer you great ways to improve, but in the end it's up to you and only you. As a young writer, I made the mistake of listening to other people's criticism and taking it to heart. Many young women, in particular, struggle with that.
Thanks for your advice, though I learnt the hard way. I think it was grade 4 when I wrote a revolting 24-page story. My teacher told me it was rubbish, and said some very harsh things that, even reflecting now, seem harsh. Of course I took it all to heart and gave up writing. From then on in English I wrote what my teacher expected; mostly gibberish rubbish. Then, Mum told me about the 'Write4Fun' competition. She wanted me to get involved with writing, so, I tried my best, entered it and my poem got published in the book. That was last year. Now I'm mad about writing. xD
Aw, sorry to hear that. Learning the hard way is usually the only way to learn anyway. It's funny, because 4th grade is also when I began writing. I still remember my teacher, and she told me I was talented. However, one time, I wrote something because I thought she would like it if I wrote it a certain way. She ended up giving me a 1, which is obviously a pretty horrifying score :x.
Quintin: haha. lacie: Aww. Well anyway, I really hope that this site can help me, either with giving me feedback to my stories or understand publishres better. 'Cuz honestly, I have not the slightest clue of where to start...
LOL, well it serves you right for being so suggestive. I only got sent to time-out one time in Kindergarten for poking someone when he was trying to nap.
I remember getting sent to time out in kindergarten for punching a boy in the nose and gave him a nosebleed. All because he stole my cookie.
It was a long time ago, but the pain still torments me to this very day... LOL Just kidding . Feedback, imo, is a bit overrated. Still useful at times, though. I don't think anyone really understand publishing. If you are interested in learning more about writing as a career, I have a book rec. It's called Mugging the Muse: Writing Fiction for Love and Money by Holly Lisle. It has a lot of practical info about the struggle of professional writers, but it is very encouraging. If you can't find it, and you are interested, I can e-mail the pdf file.
