Gday all xxx need some help. I am writing a story set in Nazi occupied France but been wracking my brain for a name for my central character, a private detective xxx am going insane, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated by me and my wife, who is going insane as well from constant nagging LOL
I'm not sure if this is something we can suggest, but perhaps use a small short names, or something you can shorten, like in the Death note series all the characters have names like Lawliet, Near, Mellow, but go by the first letter, L is an amazing detective.

I actually live in France so here's what I think of some of the above names: rene [re-nay] lachance [la-shahnss] : This sounds really good, it sounds like "renaissance" which means re-birth (and also refers to the renaissance ... yaddayaddayadda) albert [al-bare] lachance : sounds like "Et, bah... La chance!" - "And, well... Lucky!" hercule [air-kyewl] lachance : I'm not going to say what this sounds like, it sounds pretty rude though, haha! alphonse [al-fonss] lachance: "A fond la chance!" - "Go for it you seem lucky" (the French isn't grammatically correct here, but the words sound that way) If you have words you want to disguise as a character's name in French, I'm happy to help out.
It would be nice if you used the same beginning letters so you could put the initials L.L. I always like double initials
