So there are several articles out there where fans want Marvel to have Captain America come out as gay. Some fans thing Cap's friendship with Bucky Barnes should be... "more than friends." So what do you guys think? Seriously. http://observer.com/2016/05/marvel-fans-want-captain-america-to-come-out-already/
I just realized i haven't seen avengers 2 or civil war so, i'm going to slowly back away from this...
Why is this an issue? Does it matter if Captain America wants to bone whoever he chooses? Will this affect his ability to kick ass and be a hero? Sadly this has raised more questions than answers. @Lewdog damn it why did you bring forth this conundrum? What next the Hulk wants to put on a pretty pink dress and sell delicate fine china? O_O
Well you had to wonder about Captain America... since he is always seen carrying a shield made of vibrators... err I mean vibranium.
You have me running swiftly away from the temptation to find a forest of vibrators to share here, you evil evil you....
To treat this seriously, the groundwork has actually been laid for a believable Stucky romance. It wouldn't necessarily be an out-of-nowhere Sudden Sexuality thing. Retcons and AUs would be unnecessary, as sexuality is actually fairly fluid. Being a product of his time, Cap just may have never considered homosexual attraction to be possible. It's one of those Things That Don't Happen. Whatever he felt for Bucky was friendship, camaraderie, and hero worship from his pre-serum days. But, maybe, living in today's world and being exposed to new ideas and being made to think about things, maybe he starts seeing Bucky in a new light, and comes to see that his feelings for Bucky are more than platonic. It doesn't mean he's gay, or that his relationship with Peggy was a sham, it just means that what Person A is feeling for Person B is deeper and stronger than he previously believed. It would be a really fascinating story point, and having an A-list character like Cap being canonically on the LGBT+ spectrum would be great for opening people's minds, and would give people on said spectrum much-deserved representation.
Sure, why not? Oooooh, when Captain America throws his mighty shiiiield... All those who opposes his shield must yiiiieelllld..... But seriously, why not? I honestly wouldn't mind seeing him smooching on other men. I think he and Tony Stark would make an excellent couple.
It'd never work out between the two. Tony would always be making new 'toys' and Cap is just too old fashioned for that. Plus, didn't their last breakup start a civil war?
Child...... Where you been at? Bucky? Ain't no Stucky gonna' happen. Not while Tony's around. Stony been a thing for like a minute.
