    So it's almost Christmas...

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by CDRW, Sep 28, 2009.

...and I've already got the music put on.

    Anybody else excited?

Are you kidding or serious? I hate when stores put Christmas stuff out too early, and when those cheesy, treacly Christmas songs play on the radio. I'm much more of a Halloween person myself.

Dude, I'm stoked about Christmas. Started my shopping a good month and some change ago. Been trying to get my family to make me wish lists for months and months.

    I effing love Christmas!

Christmas is a season of dueling dualities. Crass consumerism vs. extreme generosity, and so on and so forth. A big chunk of Christmas music is the most disgusting garbage ever spewn forth out of the mouth of man, but the good stuff is the most magical music ever created.

I would be a Halloween person, but my parents didn't want anything to do with it after I left elementary school and I just got out of the habit. One time I did carve a pumpkin though, it was a phoenix. Nobody got to see it because our house was five miles outside any possible candy route.

    It's not almost Christmas.

Christmas can cock off and get back into it's box until 1st December, at the earliest.

Christmas always happens too early, IMO.

You walk down the high street in the middle of September and everyone's jumped on the Christmas bandwagon.

Now I see your problem. You have been deprived of the creative, fantastical joy that is Halloween. You need to watch all of Tim Burton's movies to get in the mood for the epic holiday that is Halloween.

You know, Christmas is just supposed to be the December dilemma, not the October-November-December dilemma.

I wonder if that is why I have this pressing need to make everything I write as creepy as possible.

It is ridiculously early for a Christmas thread. C'mon now.
