Having trouble trying to plan the plot before I start writing.

    If you're having a hard time with defining a female lead, I would suggest going to the Library and checking out some books on women in history. There are some great personalities to pull from and combine in history.

    Hm, that's an interesting prospect. I didn't plan on revealing this, but I already found someone to base Carol off of, but I just cant seem to catch it right. I'm using Alva Vanderbilt. Who lived at the same time, and in some senses is was in the same situations as Carol would be.

    Get to know your character then.

    She's sitting in a coffee shop. Write about it.
    She's shopping for shoes. Write about it.
    She's dreaming. Write about it.

    Get to know her through writing, it doesn't have to be writing based on your story - just feel her out so you can better understand her motives and how she'll fit into the plot.

    Thanks! That did help. I look forward to the time when I may finally share a little bit of my writing with all of you!
    I just have to get it up off the ground.
