    Hey!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by jmitchell1986, Jul 23, 2007.

    Hi there everyone!

Just thought I would introduce myself; I am Joe, a 20 year old student from bradford in England. I mostly write stage play scripts (many of which I have directed on the stage), but I am looking to produce my first screenplay, and any/ all advice, help, constructive criticism, and (hopefully) praise would be muchly welcome!

So yes, that's why I am here. Nice to meet you all :D

Hi Joe. Welcome to the Writing Forums.

By now, I hope you've taken some time to poke around in the corners of the site, to find the various features that make us what we offer, and whow we are as people. Writing well means a commitment to continual improvement, but it is also hard work, so it's important to enjoy what you are doing. We have writing challenges, we have word games. We have discussions on writing and publishing issues, and on general life topics. We also have a Review Room, where our somewhat unusual focus is more on giving reviews than receiving them. My experience with this approach has been that putting the effort into finding problems or suggesting alternatives in other people's work improves your critical eye for your own work far more than receiving suggestions on an excerpt of your own.

Again, welcome. I hope you find what you want and need here, and have fun!
