My name's Saigo. I've been writing for a fairly long time for my age(Ever since I was in the third grade!) and now I'm 17, so about 8 years now. I haven't been writing seriously except for only about 4 years though. I generally write fiction, but sometimes I'll write a piece of poetry(joke poetry is always funny ) but it's never anything serious, not like my fiction at least. I'm going to get my stuff published, if not by a publisher then I'll have it self-published and I'll travel the world But in all reality, I'm just looking to help some people with their work, critique it, and get some criticism myself
Welcome and sounds good. I wold love to look over some of your work, but I would recommend that your read over others. I have found that you can get a lot of good info from other stories on how they write ect. I hope you enjoy it here.
Thank you Yeah, I'll definitely be reading over others. It isn't fair just to post a half-assed response to someone story which they put as much thought into as my own, and then expect a great review of my own story. Hopefully I become a regular to this site since it seems very reliable with friendly members and lots of help

Hello Saigo, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own work should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). Thanks everyone for your positive comments I really enjoy the site already, and am happy to be around people with similar writing styles and constructive criticism to give. I really actually think the rule for critiquing others' work first is smart, because of the people who look and leave. It's selfish really :/ But thanks again for the comments and I hope to get to know you guys some more as I become a regular!

Saigo, welcome to the site. I think you'll love it here. I normally hate forums because so many of them are inactive. This is alive and 98 percent of the people here rock (there's always the couple bad apples no matter where you go.. such is life ) and I hope you will have as much fun here as I do. ~Lynn
Thanks to you both And Neha, I've been a part of my fair share of forums before using the SN Saigo, lol, so we probably have met elsewhere. Saigo means "Final" and it's part of an older username I used called "Saigo_Anchuu" which means "One's final moments in the darkness". I cut out the last part so it just means Final, but yeah, hope I jogged your memory
