Hello guys! It's Shyxter the Aspiring Writer :)

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by shyxter, Oct 13, 2011.

Hi! I am happy to be here. I've been an online content writer for 3 years but I haven't really written my own story or book yet. I hope to learn from all of you. Just want to ask. Where do you get inspiration in writing your stories? :)

Welcome to the forums, Shyxter! If you want to know how i get my inspiration of stories, it's mostly from other novels and elements of nature...

Hi Walshy! Thanks for the welcome :) I, too, get so much inspiration from reading. My love for reading is what lead me to love writing as well. And getting inspiration from your dreams is great too! It enables you to come up with unique stories and characters that are fit for fantasy authors like you :)

Aha, yeah dreams are good like that.
I'm actually struggling at the moment to come up with plotlines, as the one I was working on kind of fell apart... I'm suffering from a massive writers block kick, and everything I write seems pretty stupid.
Hopefully I come up with something soon though :)

Hello again :) I feel for you in experiencing a writer's block. It's like hitting on a wall and you're stuck until you take on another direction. When writer's block hits me, I take it as an alarm clock to stop writing for a while and explore other things that could spark my creativity. I usually go out to visit other places or do photography. Exploring other creative habits lead to more creative discoveries. And when I go back to writing, somehow I feel relaxed and filled with many ideas again :)

I would like to share this site that offers some good tips in finding your muse and dealing with writer's block. I hope this helps.
