Hello, I have been checking out this forum and believe (from the great posts and ideas from all) that I could benefit with writing lyrics for my tunes. I consider myself more of a musician vs writer, I devoted most of my time learning the rules to creating new songs musically...but feel my songs lack depth in the creative side when writing lyrics. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. I wouldn't worry about the lyrics as much. You can write lyrics about anything and have a hit. Just look at every "System of a Down" song.
