    "Who's Kendria Perry?"

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Kendria Perry, Mar 8, 2013.

My attempt at introducing myself in the third-person at another site didn't work too well, so let me try it another way...

"Who's Kendria Perry?" Maxi asked Roscuro while eating her pathetic excuse for a lunch.

"Isn't that the idiot that's writing this story?"

"She's not an idiot," Doris corrected, "She's really nice and cool. She comes from Florida and-"

"Do I know you?" Roscuro said. She'd never seen this girl before.

"I'm from another one of her stories," she clarified, "Doris and Rocko. It's really-"

"Rocko!" Roscuro laughed so hard milk shot out her nose. "What retard names a guy Rocko?!"

"Pfft, what do you know," Rocko scoffed, wiping milk off his leather jacket. "In my world, the ladies love me!"

"In your world, the ladies are idiots."

"What about me?" Roger whined, McStew hanging on his shoulder. "I was her first character!"

"We've got a mission, Roger," Angela said, grabbing his arm forcefully. "Come back to the IDA."

    "But I just met these-"

    "ROGER!"

He sighed and followed her out the cafeteria.

"This popsicle is shaped like a penis," Amanda said. "Does that make it sexist?"

    Everyone stared blankly at her.

"I'm new to this whole feminism thing. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right."

"You're not," said Rita, who had recently joined the party. "I'm a feminist, so I should know."

"I'm confused," said Maxi, "I thought we were talking about Kendria Perry."

"We were until all these morons showed up," Roscuro snarled. "Piss off! All of you!"

"Don't tell me to piss off, ya crumby bastard," Faith muttered.

"Oh joy, a Holden Caulfield rip-off."

    "Who's Kendria Perry?" McStew asked.

"The person that writes all our stories," Doris said. "She created all of us. Isn't that amazing?"

"Considering how stupid you guys are, not really."

    "Damned hipsters," said Amanda.

At that, Roscuro got up and left.

"I wonder what a vagina-shaped popsicle would look like," Rocko said.

"I don't know," Faith said, "but I'd sure like to see it."

(Yes, Kendria Perry is my real name.)

("...yay, someone who writes admirably in her posts..." went the goblin impressed by such fluidity now, adding "...indeed we have need of one such as you today...", and with that the goblin simply waved his hand in the air to reveal a small table and upon it the finest filtered coffee and some home-made biscuits, whereupon another flick of the wrist then produced two matching cups too, so, handing one to Kendria, the goblin calmly continued "...you'll write with us won't you, I mean more readers here than most elsewhere, where me I'm just your average everyday sort of goblin I suppose, a nobody really though I'm very good at listening and we do lavish attention upon those we find interesting, more I cannot promise but know that you are welcome indeed...")

    Welcome to Writing Forums, Kendria!

I hope you find what you're looking for here, whatever your interests in writing.

This forum aims to provide the best workshopping resources on the internet, and to that end we have a few rules which you should familiarise yourself with before you get stuck in. The main section of the site is the Writing Workshop, where members can post their writing in order to receive critique of their work.

However, before we allow members to post their work, they must have met some basic requirements. Firstly, you must have been a member for fourteen days, and have made twenty posts on the forum overall (please note, posts in Word Games do not count towards this). This is so that members, when they post their work, have familiarised themselves with the forums and contributed to them (as well as hopefully learned something for themselves). Secondly, members must provide two constructive reviews of other people's work for each piece of their own that they wish to post. This is because we believe that the focus of workshopping should be equally upon giving reviews as receiving them, as they allow a writer to practice and improve their editing skills, which they can then apply to their own writing.

Beyond the Writing Workshop, you will find that we have extensive forums for discussion of aspects of writing, as well as a community area for general discussion. We also run periodic short story and poetry contests, which are good for challenging yourself and expanding your skills. The requirements of the Writing Workshop don't apply to the contests, so new members are allowed (nay, encouraged!) to get stuck in and enter!

If you have any questions or problems, then the moderators (myself, Lemex and Dante Dases) should be your first port of call. Any technical problems with the site itself should be directed to Daniel, the site administrator and owner. I would recommend you have a look over the rules so that you know what to expect, and what is expected. But aside from that, I hope you enjoy your time here.
