    Hi everyone!

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by phAntAsmAgoriA, Mar 11, 2007.

Hi! My name is Madison (but I more frequently go by Tina. If you want to know about that, feel free to ask) and I just joined this forum (obviously). And now I will proceed to tell you a little about myself (and hopefully get some replies and learn a little about you!):

I am a junior in high school, but I attend both high school and our community college (in the evenings). I am graduating a year early, so in two months I'll be done with high school. Next fall I'll go to college. I'm really excited about this. I'm considering majoring in either Art History or journalism, although I'm well aware that Art History isn't really a practical major if you don't want to teach (which I don't, by the way).

I've been writing basically all my life. In the past I've mostly written poetry, narratives, and academic essays. Currently I'm beginning to experiment with short stories, and sometime in my life I'd like to write a novel. But I'd like to work my way up to that point.

I look forward to sharing my writing with all of you and getting some advice and input!

    Hello there.
    Congrats on graduating early.
Have a look around, and I hope you like what you see.
    Cheers.

Tv was boring so I came here. Usually there is a bit more of a wait, especially if you want reviews. But sometimes you get lucky.

*laugh* Insane, eh? But, meh. I'm used to waiting. I used to post at a different forum. It was for a band, but they had a writing section. I got tired of it there due to certain issues, so I figured I'd find a forum specifically for writing. And this is it!

    Hello Karen:)

Hi there! Welcome and welcome. Is your name based on The Rapture's specific pronounciation of their lyrics?

    HARLO!

    Me sun-speaker and whale-tongue-man!

The glorious sun & deep aquamarine whales say "ELLO! ELLO!"

    HULLO!

    Me grass-mouth and tiger-talker!

The shimmering grass & crimson tigers go "HELLO! HELLO!"

    WELCOME!

    Me white-sofa-lips and myself-understander!

THE WHITE SOFA SAYS "YAY & HI!"

MYSELF SAYS A SERIES OF QUASI-INSANE (and perhaps quasisemidemi-retarded) UTTERINGS!

    *cough*

Yeah, and Domoviye's a crazy one.

Actually, no. It's a reference to a description of an impressionist painting...the one in my avatar, actually ("The Slave Ship" by Joseph Mallard William Turner). I'm an art history junkie.

After my brother watched "Napoleon Dynamite" he started calling me to dinner by yelling "Tina! Come get your ham!"...after the llama, Tina, in the movie. After awhile, it started carrying over to other things. Soon my mom started calling me Tina, too. Then my friends. And even my teachers. It just kind of stuck.

Oh, jeez:p You sound like my brother. He's almost a junior in college and he's taking this philosophy class and he's suddenly decided to speak only in metaphor. It gets pretty aggravating after awhile. Especially when you're just trying to ask a simple question (such as "What do you want for dinner?"). Drives me nuts.

Perhaps therefore it's the Rapture who also enjoy impressionism?
