No work done, hyped for school to end. I will be writing lots over the summer. Definitely need to entirely rewrite a portion of Hell's Gate (1). It's going to be, well, hell.

Might be in jeopardy of entirely needing a rewrite of Hell's Gate (1). The writing is lacks formality. That's 83 pages, but hey, it's what we writers do.
Entire summer of revising, here we come.

Not sure if this is helpful . . . but . . . if an entire work is in question of total rewrite, it might be a total scrub.

Basically, there is no shame in letting a story go. I mean, why hang on when you can let go to a better story?

There's a quote from Tom Waits . . . replace "days" with "stories" and so it goes . . .

“This is about all the bad days in the world. I used to have some little bad days, and I kept them in a little box. And one day, I threw them out into the yard. "Oh, it's just a couple little innocent bad days." Well, we had a big rain. I don't know what it was growing in but I think we used to put eggshells out there and coffee grounds, too. Don't plant your bad days. They grow into (weeds) weeks. The (weeds) weeks grow into (rot) months. Before you know it you got yourself a bad year. Take it from me. Choke those little bad days. Choke 'em down to nothin'. They're your days. Choke 'em!”

Oh no, the plot is super good, the writing was just executed in a poor manner :D
    Thus, requires a rewrite.

    Ah. Now I see.

Very best of luck with that massive rewrite then.

Oh, how I hate the massive rewrite process. For me, it's like getting raped a second time by the same perp in a similar location.

We're all dif, tho. And, of course, I wish you the very best secondary outcome.

Launched the rewrite of HG(1)! << Hunger Games? @_@

    Hell's Gate: The Broken Seal

Planned to be finished by summer's end
Expected to be at least 300-400 pages long (150-200+ letter pages) Most likely will be much larger.
Need to make the story much less rushed. Might split into 2 books << Rip trilogy D:

    We will see :D

Here's a sneak peek. Only releasing the Prologue

Running, running, running. Something is close behind, relentless for hours already. Running from something terrible— something sinister approaching him. It is getting close, too close. No more energy left to keep the pace, it becomes a futile fight for survival. A fight that was meant to be lost. No time to gasp for breath, just run. Run. Run. It is close…

Can’t keep it up anymore, it is coming. Standing but losing consciousness. A sinister chill ran up his spine. Everything is spinning around him, wildly and violently, as he was in the heart of a storm. It is coming— no, it’s here. The lightning has struck. He stands there, defenseless for what is to happen. Smiling slightly, he spreads out his arms out and allows himself to fall into the darkness.

    The pain… is gone.

The omniscient feel of the prologue is extremely intentional. It would be the only part of the novel written in present tense. Hope you like it.

*sniggers* have you spied upon me and my first WIP? Your prologue is kind of similiar to mine, with style and even a bit of content. :p

Oh, no. xD This prologue has been written ages ago. I just rewrote it just now. Here is the original (This was about half a year back)
Running, running, running… Something is close behind… Running from something, something terrible. It is getting close. Too close. No more energy, fighting to keep the pace. Fighting but losing… It is close…

Can’t run anymore. It is approaching. Standing, but losing consciousness. A sinister, familiar chill runs up his spine. It is here. He stands there, defenseless from what is to come. Smiling, slightly, he spreads out his arms and allows himself to fall into darkness.

    lmao dying :D

@Imaginarily glad you liked it. Time to rewrite the 83 pages, eh?

My goal is to at least get it published at the end of 2016. Hopefully we can make it!

(This is all without my parents knowing. I wouldn't think that they would be all to supportive of me becoming a writer, but they probably will be impressed by the result.)

I will give you the same advice I gave @Link the Writer some months ago:

    strongindependentblackwoman.jpg

(Translation: You are a strong independent black woman and you don't need no parents' permission or support to be a fantastic writer. You just be the best god damn writer you can be, you hear me?)

Let ol' Nostalgia Critic help you with that. If your parents (or anyone) complains about you being a writer, show them this video:

I am setting myself a goal. A chapter a day every weekday in summer vacation. I will post everytime I finish a chapter along with its word and page count.

My goal will most likely not be met, but I give the moderators permission to ban me if I do not reach 30 chapters by the end of summer break. 10/10

This is called work under pressure. Let's do this >:]

Edited God's Survelliance a bit. Enjoyed the reread of the piece-- I love it. This phone is terrible at writing, unfortunately, so there has been no progress on The Broken Seal
