HELP, microsoft office word is being a douchebag

Discussion in 'Software' started by Poziga, Nov 5, 2014.

    Hello. :)
Sorry if I posted thread in the wrong section, didn't where where else to do it.

I have word 2007, but the age doesn't really matter, because I had the same problems also on 2010. This is the problem, these two windows keep popping up. Not every once in a while, but continuosly. When I click X/ignore/ok/cancel, the very next second it pops up again. Does anyone know what to do, I didn't find anything on google. The first window doesn't happen so often, but the second one is impossible....
    Thank you for your help.

Have you tried to check if your F7 key is stuck. Maybe try with a different keyboard?

Hmm, I did punch the keyboard... But that was because of those windows, so it was after...

I'll check and will wait for a few days, just in case. I'll get back to you in a few days. :)

You should also be able to shut spell check off altogether, but maybe that just creates a different problem.

I did shut it off. It didn't work. I actually formatted the whole computer (I have one old computer just for writing, nothing else), just because of this thing, but when I installed windows and Office, it was like I did nothing. 1 week it was okay, after that, the spell checker windows started popping up again.

Unless your version of Office is glitched, I think it is your keyboard too. You can test by running other programs where F7 actually does something noticeable.

Move along, nothing to see here...

I like it, and I probably wouldn't forget about it entirely.
I mean, cannibal llamas; that's soooo cool!

One of David Wong's book opens with an analogy to Locke's Socks dilemma and Theseus' Ship.
    Also, penis monsters.
However, what I remember the most about that opening in the quandary rather than the penises.
So, maybe I'm just the sort of reader who enjoys those things (Not the penises, in this case) and it stuck.
I'd use it, if I'm making a point or bringing something across, my readers will get it too as I'd be targeting them more than the simple and clueless :3

@A.M.P. "Penis Monsters" would be an awesome name for a rock band.

Also "Cannibal Llamas." Imagine a song by "Penis Monsters, featuring Cannibal Llamas!" Imagine radio DJs talking about it. Imagine Tipper Gore getting all Tipper Gore about it. Imagine Frank Zappa giggling in his grave. :p

For me, when paired with the [FN] key, it turns off my laptop's touchpad. But I was just making a joke about you putting the Llama post on the wrong thread ...

Go download and try LibreOffice. Clone of MS Office, legal, free, opensource. Looks acts and smells just like MS Office; has doppleganger MS Office clones of Word, Excel, etc. Why pay money to Bill Gates, he has enough! Get Libreoffice (or Openoffice, really the same, just spin offs of opensource); been using libre office for years, love it.

And is it somehow resistant to stuck F7 keys?

Oops my bad, did not see that it was a physical keyboard issue; yeah just go buy a cheap keyboard and see if that fixes it.
