This morning I'm faced with another question, why sleep? Last night for the fifth time in a row, I find myself lying there running through what I'm working on. It's now so bad (good?) that I keep a notebook and pen next to my bed. Late at night and very early in the morning, ideas come in to my head that I can't ignore, last night I solved how to revive someone who had died! So now to the problem, do I sleep and miss out on these ideas that I so desperately need? Does anyone else have this overwhelming compulsion over a particular piece of work? I have lived a half life before, half in the world I'm creating and half in "real" life, this is the first time I've become so obsessed it's taking over, it feels good and the words and ideas are flowing but I do need sleep.

National Geographic calls hypergraphia a "debilitating condition". Some of us would beg to differ. In all seriousness, welcome, and I hope you find a balance of peace and inspiration.
Thank you for the advice and I assure you I will find the balance. I've spent most of today writing, tonight is time to stock up on dreams to fuel the writing of tomorrow. I've written many types of literature from poems to medical books, some seven MSS in all - none followed through, most of them here (hidden so they can't make me feel guilty). This time, no excuses and no need for them, a complete change for me. Given my research into ageism and screenwriting, what would make the most sense? Oh yes, think of an amazing idea and write a screenplay at my age! The words glutton for punishment or just plain nuts comes to mind but at least I can laugh at myself and it won't stop me trying and doing everything possible to make this work.
