    Howdy from north Texas

    Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by jacktheknife, Jun 11, 2010.

    Fellow authors,

    It is summertime in Texas and too hot and horrible to contemplate.
    Therefore I have given myself four months {till October}
    to organize my E-book.
    I just came in from feeding my poultry and it is already hot at 8:00 am.
    The book is already written but for organizing the chapters and editing.

    There will be two versions of the 'Visions & Miracles' story.
    V & M for 'General Audiences',
    {ie. High school kids and women, with the cussing, blood and guts left out}

    V & M for 'Military Marksmen, Lawyers, Policemen and Criminals'
    {ie. with the cussing, blood and guts left in}

    I can finish both versions before publishing so that I can make changes.

    Publicity for the book will be the imprisonment of 5 policemen for conspiracy.
    It will make city, state, national and world news,
    they were so cowardly and evil.
    {not to mention short and fat}

    I have been working on the preface, introduction and foreword
    and have decided my disability Judge would be a good person
    to ask to write the foreword.

    He was the one who told me to:
    "Jack, write all those stories down,"
    {amid peals of howling laughter}
    My disability Judge asked to hear about my horses and my mule.
    I told him about a wreck I had on Sugarmay,
    and when I was finished he laughed {by my watch} for five minutes.
    It will make my work very, very marketable.

    However, a book about a disabled coma patient
    who gets murdered three times in nine years but survives,
    figures out 'who done it',
    and writes the District Attorney, Attorney General, and FBI,
    who in turn put the five small town cops in prison for 99.5 years each.
    That's 497.5 years total!
    Then goes on to write a book about the whole episode,
    now that's a story 'worth writing about'.

    A book about a subject like this will be a best seller.
    I don't lie or steal and got my spine crushed
    by the people who are paid to help and protect people not hurt them.
    It hurts real bad and I just woke up.
    It will hurt for the rest of my life and is inoperable.

    But a book about a subject like this one is difficult to write.
    And not just because I was in a coma.
    For the introduction, start with a story which happened before my first wreck 9 years ago.
    Where I played Accordion for 70 people and knocked them dead.
    It was the best I have ever played.
    Then more random 'short stories' showing who I am,
    and letting the reader get to know me that way.
    I am considering 5/10 stories in 'the foreword.'

    Foreword:
    Unrelated stories about my life and who I am so as to get aquainted with the reader.
    Stories about my hounds & hunting, my music, food and cooking,
    my girlfriend Marci♥...
    Then from the 'introductory stories',

    Chapter 1. deals with the wreck and coma.
    Reported "dead" by the same police department
    who conspired to kill me 6 years later.
    The hospital and all the fine people I met there.
    Learning to spell again, cook, write, shoot, getting my strength back
    so much as possible. Learning to make knives, raise poultry,
    growing my big garden.
    At my disability Judge's request, over a period of six years,
    I wrote every good story I had in me and finished about the time I got murdered again.
    So that I was an author, and not a minute too soon.

    Chapter 2. will deal with my attempted murder by two police departments.
    deliberate false arrest, imprisonment,
    deliberate assault and battery in jail by the jailers.
    {Jumped from behind I was for no reason}
    Resulting in further severe, permanent and inoperable spinal damage
    to an already disabled coma patient with no criminal record.
    By the Lancaster and Desoto police departments and ensuing cover up.

    Chapter 3. will deal with the year I spent writing letters to the FBI, D.A. Attorney General ect.
    I spent 365 days 24 hours a day writing the story of what happened
    and learning who to send the letters to.
    The letters are all included in the book.
    Chapter 4. 5. 6. and onwards will relate how the Chief of Police quit the next day after the city
    got the first letter took his retirement money and ran like a whipped dog.
    How I saw terror in the eyes of the cops who were involved in my attempted murders.

    I have this summer to get the chapters in order and the material organized.
    The stories are written and organizing them is all I need to do.
    I don't know when the trial will be but it can't be kept quiet.
    I was assured by the Texas Rangers and Sheriff's dept.
    that the four Lancaster policemen and one Desoto $15. an hour jail goon
    will be convicted of conspiracy, for which the penalty is 99.5 years.
    That "they have absolutely no defense, that they are dead."
    The girl who cuts my hair said the city got my letter and
    "Jack, your letter tore the town apart."
    A Texas Ranger said: "This is the guy who wrote that letter?"
    "A letter that sounded like a lawyer wrote it?"
    "A good trial attorney?"

    So, yes, things are happening and more than the summer heat.
    I have a good story to write this summer and have ready to publish.
    And it already has what every writer needs,
    publicity.

    Thank you...♪

    Howdy Shinn,

    I know someone from New Zealand named Kiwi, a real nice chick.
    Thanks for saying hi, and let me ask you...
    Where does one send off to for an ISBN?

    Thank you...♪

    I've never written an e-book before, so it's a little different. I'm sure you could Google it or something like that.

    Howdy Jack, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

    Please read How to Use the Review Room before you post there. Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog.

    Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication.

    If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate.

    As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). Also, please use the same thread for all revisions and additional excerpts from the same piece of writing. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

    And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out the RPG forum for improvisational fiction. Also try our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites.

    Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!

    Hi Jack, welcome. I wonder where one lives when he says north Texas. Looking at a map, let's see... that could be north of dallas, between there and wichita falls, or maybe up in the vernon area. Just curious as I was down that way once.
