I prefered the book, to be honest. As good as the film was.

I preferred the book as well. The movie was interesting, but didn't do anything for me. But the book had me running down my apartment hallway just in case something was waiting for me.

The Shining was an awesome book, haven't seen the movie yet.
I liked the movies 1408, The Ring and Saw.
The Blair Witch Project just gave me a bad case of motion sickness. The worst horror movies have to be Ginger Snaps, Jeepers Creepers and the Boogeyman. Even the Evil Dead series was awful. No, wait, I just remembered the worst ever horror movie was some stupid thing where the lipstick was haunted or something... can't recall the name, but it was really really stupid.

Identifying the worst horror movie is pretty futile. The worse the movie, the less circulation it gets. Therefore the most pathetic movies are unlikely to be seen at all except by a few unfortunate souls.

As a Stephen King fan I have to revert back to the topic of The Shining earlier in this thread:

The Kubrick version is better in terms of being scary and well made.
The TV version is overly long but extremely faithful to the book.
The book itself is a tad overrated in my opinion.

So really what I'm saying is that I'd watch the Kubrick version instead of reading the book or watching the TV version. I think ...

I'm just downloading Saw IV, the Reaping and Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer because I've been craving a good horror. I hope at least one of them is alright :)

I enjoyed Henry Potrait Of A Serial Killer. But the others are bland.

I once again recently whatched Queen of The Damned and once again engaged a good arguement with my good pal about how its better than Interview with the vampire but he denys it and retains interview is far better of course I strongly disagree.

Brad Pitt was sooo hot in that! :p

But horro in general, not really a massive fan of movies. I might read a book of horror but I htink I will stick to my Action, Fantasy, Sci-fi and Mills and Boon Romance novels! :p
