    How bad-ass am I?

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by cruciFICTION, Jul 18, 2011.

So, my boss is awesome. I volunteer at a Salvation Army store, and one of our donations was a pair of pogo stilts (I don't know the real name).
After ten minutes of walking around on them, my feet kinda hurt, but I felt bad-ass in my ability to walk (mostly) without falling over.

    Have some images:

Anyway, what's the most bad-ass thing you've ever done, or are in the process of doing? Physical endeavours only, please.

I'll only admit that you're badass if you have pics of you in MID AIR somersaulting over cars :p

They're pretty cool those springy stilts though (I don't know what else to call them lol)

The way to Valhalla is paved with pogo stilts.

Or is it the skulls of mine enemies?

    I always forget :p

That's pretty awesome! I wish someone would donate pogo stilts to the Salvation Army here...

For me, I think the most bad-ass thing I've done is roller derby. Super rad. If any of you have a league near you, you should check out one of their bouts.

Edit: Pictures of me running "the gauntlet" at my skills test--basically, I was the jammer and had to fight my way through a pack of eight or so veteran skaters while they beat the sh*t out of me.

It's not for a while yet, but I have signed up to do a sponsored walk up Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise money for AIDs orphans in Tanzania. Considering I am not a massively energetic person, I'm classing this as being fairly 'bad-ass' :)

Also, I've always wanted to try those stilt things :')

Thanks guys :) It's in the early stages atm (we don't climb till 2013), but we're gunna spend the next two years raising £10,000 hopefully. Gunna be a REAL challenge though - I get out of breath climbing the stairs :p

They look like contractor stilts, for working on high walls and ceilings and such. Still very cool though. I once drove 120 MPH on the interstate... oh wait that's stupid not bad-ass :D. Ummm I go off-roading in Moab, Utah a couple times a year. It's pretty bad-ass and fun.

My high school's gym has this absolutely stellar high-ropes climbing course. It's a giant gym too, and the course is pretty high up. I was always the one to demonstrate what to do to the rest of my classmates, most of them being too scared to try it out first or at all. Made me feel badass to be so high up and the center of attention. :D

Shit yeah, Heather. That's awesome! So you get to come to Australia, here, and then climb our biggest mountain? I DEMAND A TOLL.

Well, they're in pretty good nick. I'd say that, like a lot of the cool stuff we get in, some kid's rich parents have bought it. The kid has decided they're no good because he sucks at them. Then he's probably finally moved out, or they're clearing stuff out, and the parents have given them to us.
Other than a few chips on the plastic of the blue bit (just the plastic coating, not the springy stuff itself), it's pretty fine.

    WANT.
I love climbing high ropes, especially when you just do it with your upper body. So bad-ass.

Are we talking about how bad-ass we are in real life? Well, if you count a guy who's mathematically challenged passing pre-Cal with a solid B when he started it with a 45 as bad-ass, then I guess I'm bad-ass in that way. XD

Hey, Link, I think that's pretty bad-ass. I skipped pre-calc and calc and took "advanced algebra" with the know-nothings. Pretty funny that I took it alongside AP English Literature and Composition!! lol!

Oh, yeah, and I managed to do ok in College math classes, but couldn't ever score higher than a B or B+, and those weren't Calc classes!!!

I once nearly killed myself shooting a propane tank.

And there was that other time I actually passed a college spanish class.

    yeaaaaaa......

Anybody have any good childhood fire and explosion experiences? My brother once caught our basement on fire one time.

I was, umm, testing you? I was thinking of Kosciusko. I always get those two mixed up. >.< I STILL DEMAND A TOLL, BEING HALF-MAN AND HALF-MOUNTAIN.

Me and my brother used to get two-litre milk bottles (once they were empty) and fill them with deodorant. You can light the top of it then, see a little ripple of flame go across, and then use it as a cheap, fun flame thrower. You get two good squeezes out of it, then you can refill it once.

    I'm afraid I'm not bad-ass at all... :(

But I'm determined to fly in a glider someday, so would that count?

I didn't get to set anything on fire, but I have had the awesome experience of shooting a .50 BMG 3 times :D That certainly felt bad-ass!

    Haha, fair enough :p

My dad paid for me and my sister to have a flight in a glider for our birthdays, it was amazing. Obviously we weren't allowed to fly it, but it is something I think would be cool to learn.

I like to jump into bushes from high places... yeah I don't do a whole lot of physical activity unless encouraged ;)
