I used to buy trial versions but I got bored of it REALLY quickly. I had a kickass level 20 player with the best weapon without a level requirement, it was part of a level 40 quest but a few lvl.60's helped me out. I got bored of tearing people to pieces with my druid.

So I bought Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forget about WoW, havn't you guys got your beta applications in for Middle-Earth Online yet?

I don't play these types of games myself, but I've seen the official website. The game looks like its going to be huge.

    I play WOW too.
I have a 60 warlock and a 56 shadow priest who has never healed another person in his brief (grind, grind, grind, grind) life, so I think that when I re-spec to heal-meister I will end up surrounded by dead bodies and lots of abuse. hehe.
It is a good game, but I long for the early days of Everquest. It was such a shame when nearly everyone I knew moved on to pastures, and instances, new.

I loved that game. I am still haunted by images of Goblins backsides.

    They do?
Can you tell me how, coz I am THE worst PVPer in the world (real or fantasy) LOL
BTW, any tips on healing? Just in case I ever get a group. The problem I have is that, unlike EQ, I have to play on a European server and because I can only play late at night most peeps are in bed when I'm online.

    Tips on healing..

Well I am currently shadow specced but I still do a lot of end game healing.

The trick is dont overheal..focus on healing your tank and if some cloth wearing wanna be tank starts taking damage..dont try to keep em healed..just focus on the tank..use FADE a lot and use renew when u can instead of the large mana expensive heals. Healing is really stressful in the instances and it doesnt matter how well you heal you are always gonna have some schmuck complain..just ignore it and do the best u can

I find that a lot of PUG groups are just plain BAD and it doesnt matter how good a healer you are, its just doomed from the start.

Get a pally to buff you with wisdom..get a spirit buff if you are not holy specced..and focus on items that regen mana and are + healing. If you can, get the recipe for the truefaith vestments and make them for yourself. Expensive for the mats but well worth it.

Or get enchant Lifestealing or Crusader or get both...also you can get epics that have healing stats..enchant most of your stuff cept the weapons with stamina and spirit. Buy lots of armor kits preferrably rugged and put them on all of your armor that it allows. It will cost you about 50g to enchant with lifestealing and 45 with crusader it's pretty costly but well worth it.

I played Guild Wars for a while before I realised I was wasting too much writing time, not to mention life, playing it. I uninstalled it and gave it away.

I'd give that advice to any MMORPG players who are spending a lot of time on these games.

There's a world outside that's so much better than an in-game one...

    BETTER? Are you mad?

I have ridden on the backs of dragons, wrestled fire elementals, bare chested; cast icy bolts from my very fingers at Golems and Giants, stared into the Abyss, climbed down, and kicked major ass.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser gate.

And you tell me selling insurance is BETTER?
    You ARE mad!!

    :p

Yep these games can be all consuming...however when u learn to enjoy them in moderation..they are a nice escape from boredom!

I also stopped playing to focus on my writing a while. My writing goes in phases..when I am less inspired..i play games in my free time.

Games can be good but some ppl are more consumed with them than others
