I received good news in Mar 2011 that my recipe was going to be used in a future Family Circle magazine's reader recipe column . I was asked to send them a blurb about how and when I used the recipe. How long should I wait to hear back from them?
the rule of thumb for inquiries about a submission is 1-2 months longer than they say it should take to get a response... in your case, where a submission was apparently accepted and only additional info was wanted, you should have called to inquire as dagolas suggests, 2-3 weeks later... did you check subsequent issues to see if the recipe was ever published?
I may have worded my post wrong, what I meant to say was they let me know last March that they wanted to use it in a future column. I did go back and reword my post. I have checked some of the issues just in case they had published it, but I haven't found it in any of them as of yet. Thanks
did you send them the blurb right away?... since it's been nearly a year, it may have been lost in some editor's ceiling-high piles of incoming mail, so why don't you just give the person who said it would be used a call and ask what the current status is?
