I have a current running total of: $0.00
Me too! Go the amateurs....
I think I'm negative dollar from the purchase of pens and notebooks. If I had to estimate, perhaps: -$2.00
Hmm true that...at least its fun!
I got a free video game to review for a game site once. That's the only plus I've had so far.
That's pretty sweet!
Several thousand, over the years...
Adjusted for purchasing power parity, maybe 50 dollars US?
Oh, and a Nintendo Wii.
But then again i've never tried to get anything published or sold
Kid paid me 20 bucks to write him a poem for one of his classes when I was in college.
I received $25.00 once for a short article in a technical magazine. But I have yet to submit any fiction or other creative writing to any cash market.
I once got paid ten whole dollars for a poem that I submitted via e-mail then forgot about until I got the magazine in the mail.
zilch, £0.00, nothing
$150 for three articles
100% of my income for the last six years. Last year was the first time (hip hip hooray) that over 50% was from writing fiction. The rest is from freelance stuff and newlsetters.
I would love to have all my income from writing, but unfortunately, all those years when I wrote for the outdoor magazine, my income was coincindental to my total income. Although, just last night I got paid $1600 for designing a 16-page sales brochure/catalog for a new fishing rod company. It ain't money from fiction, but it works! LOL
Anybody want to buy a $300 fishing rod? I can get you a deal!
Zip, zilch, zero, nada, nothing.
I've made people pay about a fiver to read or use my poems for their love interests, and have made about thirty pounds. I've won money in a few competitions, but I don't usually keep it. It finds its way to clan museums or Gaelic language teachers.
Unsurprising as I have nothing to submit except a couple of short poems..
it's been too long since i wrote for money, so i've no clue, but i know it's up in the thousands... most of it from private clients of my writing consultant business, some from magazine and newspaper columns and editing, some from poetry, song lyrics and short stories...
None yet, but I am only on my first book and haven't worked on getting it published yet. It will be as successful as it's meant to be, and to me, even if only a few people read it and are touched, that's success. Anything else is just a plus. I'm a writer, whether I get paid for it or not.
I'm very unmaterial (I think it comes from that little Communist inside my head) and so I have never made a real attempt to publish anything; I've always just let people read my works for free. I'm not interested in earning money from writing either; but a lot of people have tried to encourage me into doing this.
Almost $700 but I have been writing online for more than 2 years now. I now earn a passive monthly income from my writing.
what does that mean?... and how much?
I write art reviews for Artscope Magazine. $50-100 per bi/monthly issue (basically $50 per article). Coming close to 25 articles written over 3 years.
Gotta say though, fiction dollars earned = $0.00 thus far.
