Question How to insert a table?

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by BayView, Sep 25, 2016.

Is there a way to reliably (ie. will work for all viewers) insert a table into a post?

Do I need to save the image as a PDF and upload it to a photosharing site? Would that work?

Or is there some other way to do it?

The best I could do @BV. It's not much, but you might rest your coffee on it. See what you think?

Yes actually, for the Queen Ant. She rests on her large thorax bottom and the soldier chaps drag in moths, caterpillars, civilians of every shade. She bites off their heads.

I do not think there is a way to embed a table into a post (using BBCode). The best way is probably to turn the table into an image, then upload it using the "Upload a File" button (next to "Post Reply") and embed it into the post.

How do you embed it once it's uploaded?

You probably need an image file, like .jpg or .png, rather than a PDF.

Is there a reasonable way to make a Word file into a jpg?

If the table fits on your screen, I'd just take a screenshot of it. You can use the screenshot utility to outline just the area of the screen you want to grab, then save the image.

@BayView Might I ask why you want to add a table to a post?

I don't anymore - but when I was trying to put together a sort of pro/con list of different publishing methods, a table would have been the clearest way to format the information.
