Absolutely...it is great when traveling long distances. I will take a throw and a pillow, throw my feet up on the dash and start reading!!!
I often listen to music through my Zune while reading too!

I listen to music as well, but when I really get into the book the music no longer plays. Its liked I zoned out reading a book.
That is when I imagine the story in my head.
And kinda daydream the words as they enter my mind.
My mom can ask me a question and I will never hear her.
She gets mad at me when I do that.

If you can talk on the phone and drive.
You can read a book and drive.
(I am kidding...you should always keep your eyes on the road.)

I have the same problem, and it's the only thing that actually can make me car sick, surprisingly. Even more strange is that I can read on a bus without a problem - go figure! :)

It might be because the bus is a little slower then a car.

I know exactly what you are saying. I will zone out on the music too, when the book is really good. My friends and family just get irritated but whatever... I am going to read when traveling...that's the Chimmy way of making the trip more enjoyable!!! :D

Quite possibly - there's only two things that give me motion sickness, reading in the car and video games with first person POV - both of which disappoint me greatly! :p

MY kids take advantage of when I am in deep thought..or read mood, because we end up stopping somewhere that I don't recall agreeing to. But then I was reading and only answered out of reaction to being asked a question.

I never remember a thing...they get so mad with me..:)

    I never get motion sickness.

    lol!
Yeah I answer my mom, but not really answer her.
She usually finds out I was never really listening when she ask a really complex question.
Something like, Where do you want to go?
Cause I'll answer The Oak Forest or something about what I am reading.
    :)

Your kids are doing well then. They really know how to get what they want.
    lol!

I read in the car from time to time. But I get sick a lot by doing this, and half the time reading in the car plus soft music in the background knocks me out and I'm asleep before I can read another line.

Sometimes I get sick to my stomach and other times it doesn't bother me. I think lighting really contributes to it though cuz I get sick when I strain my eyes. :p
