    What do you mean by "writing industry"? If you mean to write for a living, then writing is a skill utilised in a number of industries. Do you want generic information on several or are you looking for information about a more specific type of writing? e.g. writing for a newspaper or magazine; copywriting; novel writing; screenwriting; etc.

    Well, long hours, years of honing your skills, and a rejection rate in the publisher's office of greater than 99.9%. You don't have to be crazy to write, but it really helps.
