"The Portal" is about a guy who tries to find out if there is such a thing as a 'heaven', though it may not be as described in most religious texts. He finds a mysterious, alluring female motorcycle mechanic who is able to show him that it does, in fact, exist. Ultimately, these two fall for each other much to the dismay of MC's existing girlfriend. Biker girl Annie has a deceased boyfriend who is, well, still sort of around. Annie could only be played by Olivia Wilde; no one else is permitted. Gwyneth Paltrow could play the dumped girlfriend. Orlando Bloom would be perfect in the role of the deceased but not gone boyfriend. My MC is a puzzler, though. He needs to be 'everyman' and not some typical Hollywood hunk. Though I don't think he's quite right for the role, John Krasinski is the closest I can think of to the 'look' I'd be going for.
In one of my novella's I pictured one of the mc's as nicole kidman-ish in the golden compass - blonde, pale and kind of a jerk. But I haven't done that with any other characters. Maybe I should visualise more.
I suppose the old man in my story would be played by Robert Duvall, and the boy by Noah Ringer (from Cowboys and Aliens). I wasn't thinking of casting a movie as I was writing it, though - it actually took me a while to come up with those actors for the roles. They're pretty close to what I had in mind, but they're not perfect. I'm not one of those writers who envision actors when creating characters, I guess.
Interesting question Lilith (detective, protagonist) is a difficult one. I always imagine my friend Lorien, who looks a lot like JK Rowling, only younger. Maybe Lea Seydoux or Selma Blair. Hamish (partner) - Michael Caine (if he was 20 years younger) OR Jeff Bridges Justin (Lover 1) Alexander Skaarsgard Connor (cop, Love interest/antagonist) - Christian Bale Diana (Villain/antihero) - Juliet Binoche Peter (antagonist) - George Clooney Thomas (antagonist) - Johnny Depp Melanie (antagonist) - Kate Winslett
@Lewdog: Don't quote me, I'm still changing it! But yes, no, they'll be so enamoured by my little independent film script, they'll all do it as a little side project for Sundance Film Festival And they'd look damn good together. I'd get Emir Kusturica to direct it, I know him and he knows Johnny Depp, which is half the job done
I'm working on an actual screenplay rather than a novel and I'm not sure who would play who. Dante: I like the mature looks (Dante is late 30s/early 40s) and somewhat jovial persona of Robert Downy Jr, but I don't want Tony Stark and he may be too old for the role. BES: I like the looks of Jennifer Lawrence, but I don't like her voice and voice is going to be important as that is the only thing people will know of BES initially. VPOTUS Rawlings: Older guy, perhaps 50s-60s. I wonder how good a bad guy Harrison Ford can play. POTUS Mitchel: Starting to get iffy. Most of the other characters will be CG overlays, so voices are more important than appearance.
My NaNo piece Isake Dresden - Charlie Hunnam Kilnir Ironshield - Richard Armitage Lori Togarbaec - Emma Watson Arkalo: Tim Booth Xanthir: Jason Isaacs (i picture this character more like Lucius Malfoy than anything!) King Togarbaec: Gary Oldman the reason why the MC has changed, is that, as i am writing i realise a bit more about the character and realise that maybe Richard Brake isnt the right person.
i know, but Kilnir is a dwarf, and after Richard playing a stellar performance of Thorin, i am certain he would make Kilnir as awesome as i picture him
Dakota Fanning as my MC; Bradley Cooper as my antagonist. Not sure on anyone else, they're the main romantic couple in my chick-lit novel.
here are the rest of the cast for my nano piece King Caspiar: Hugo Weaving (well, his portrayal as Elrond makes him apt for the likeable of the two kings) Aeku: Jeremy Irons Arcana: Ed Speelers or Alex Pettyfer (either or would work for this character.) Esmari: Lily Cole Zephan: Tom Felton and i really must find somewhere for Bill Nighy, as i think he could make for a good acting addition to the cast....
If someday one of my novels turned into a movie, I would ask director to give the first role to me. So I think I choose myself, because I am a capable actor Specially my avatar shows that I am similar to a famous actor, I don't know who but however one of them maybe Marlon Brando or Jacky Jone but I can't raise from walls or jump from a high bridge into a river and Jacky has to do these himself
In my novel Rabies I haven't yet created all the character, but here are some. Male Protagonist Jack is Jim E Mora in my head, but that would be pretty tough acting debut Burt Reynolds would probably do a good job Female protagonist Delia is Gabrielle Union. She is little older than the character, but she could easily be 35. Agatha is everybody's favorite Betty White. Agatha is independent, but loving. Jacks though cousin Arnold is Clint Eastwood, no need for picture here, but if his not available Ian McKellen will do. Agatha's granddaughter Memphis is Mia Talerico she just has to grow a little. But you know child actors they grow. Selena Gomez would have fitted this role as a nine year old. Pretty much any pretty nine year old fits this. Of course acting skills would be nice. Then Doug he is not yet in the book, but is in my plan. He is the head of the only colores family in town, he is Mike Epps. Other guys I wouldn't like to have in some role are: Tyler James Williams, Terry Crews, James Franco, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and o course me myself probably as a dead body. Those are all guys that will fit some character in my book.
If it were being shot now for release next year, this would be a very suitable cast for some of the main characters. Mackenzie Foy - Mykhaila (with black hair cut very short) Wayne Knight - Dan (Without the glasses) Elle Fanning - The Blue Girl Misha Collins - Jack Ezra Miller - Caleb (The absolute perfect choice for this character) Vincent Cassel - Felix
Right, The Master Swordsman Chronicles is getting a bit of a makeover Isake Dresden: Chris Hemsworth (Thor anyone? *drools*) Kilnir Ironshield: Richard Armitage Lori Togarbaec: i cant seem to think of someone truly appropriate for Lori right now! King Seolran (Previously King Togarbaec): Crispin Glover King Caspiar: Hugo Weaving Iaro (Previously Aeku): Gary Oldman Tyr (Previously Arcana): Ed Speelers Esmari: Helena Bonham Carter Zari: Tom Hiddleston (well someone has to be able to keep up with Isake/Chris)
One of my characters was planned to be played by Robin Williams. The others were Dakota Fanning and Josh Hutcherson. But since those two are too old to play the particular characters, they can be replaced but with Robin Williams....i'm not sure
I think I'm going to have the following: - Nicholas Cage to bring some gravitas and subtlety to the film; Russell Crowe for comic relief; Adam Sandler using that hilarious "moron" voice he uses; Cameron Diaz because that one character she plays in all her films also happens to be in my novel; Jennifer Aniston because that one character she plays in all of her films also happens to be in my novel; Bruce Willis purely for chat show appearances and to generally win over the media. And it will be directed by M Night Shyamalan.
Michelle Rodriguez could probably pull something like that off. She was certainly the person who immediately came to mind. As for mine, the fantasy story I'm doing has a shed load of characters, and I've done about a 10th of it at most, but the ones who I have ideas for: Martin: He's based on a slightly older version of me, and I've been told I used to look like Orlando Bloom, so him. Prince James: Kit Harrington, although the character is more like (an older more sensible) Robb Stark than Jon Snow. Princess Emma: A slightly younger Ellen Page (not that she has much trouble playing younger characters, but Emma's supposed to be about 14, which might be pushing it even for Page). Richard Marland: The guy who plays Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones, who's name I'm not going to attempt to spell (lol), although Richard is a bit more evil than Jaime. Hayley Marland: Her appearance is inspired by Meghan Trainor, so any young (the character is about 16) actress who could look a bit like that. Craig Marland: A young, fairly twinky guy. I kind of want to say Justin Bieber, who has acted, but there's probably a better choice than that. Lord Wilde: Johnny Depp That is by no means all the characters, but it's all of the characters I can think of actors for at the moment. My other current story idea involves political intrigue in a fictional country, so most of the characters are based on politicians, although for some reason the person who came to mind for the appearance of the character whose death causes the intrigue was the porn star Nina Hartley.
