Personality: Tez is quiet calm and collected. Very intelligent and calculating. He does not speak unless he has to. But his personality means he has poor social skills. This is especially true for member's of the opposite sex. This also give off the illusion that he is cold hearted, but in reality he is very kind and noble. History: Project Tezriac, was started by a secretive house living in no mans land. In secret a group of scientists backed by a few members in the Alaouda house developed a theory. They believed humanity should head back to earth. But they do not believe any one, even the Alaosdians had the ability to do it. Not even the most advanced fleets could make it back to earth...At least not the conventional way. Tezriac, is code name for, the flow verse. An insane theory that one could use the dimension magic users get flow from as a gate way, to EARTH! In theory everything is connected by the dimension below ours (We'll call it the flow verse) One could get around the challenges of flying through normal space by short cutting through the flow verse. Thus project Tezriac was started. Tez's parents the leaders of the project tried to combined magic, and technology into to something capable of that. After many years of failed experiments they finally managed to create...the mana drive! this device could transport matter through the flow verse, by following the energy trial of the flow entering this world back to its source (The source being the dimension flow comes from) But. There was a problem, the flow verse reacted violently to matter from other dimensions entering it, and quickly ejected anything they tried to put through the flow verse. 10 meters was the distance they where able to warp anything before it was thrown back out. If they could only master this top secret achievement, they could warp entire fleets back to earth. But as they worked, whiff of their attempts reached the God emperor. the technology was not only illegal., but it violated the emperors law that no one try returning to earth. Their research was destroyed, all the scientists were killed, the mana drive disappeared, the government does not know where it is. But... Their greatest achievement remained. Tezriac him self. Tezz was the child of the two leading scientists behind the Tezriac project, and there crowning achievement, genetically engineered to better control flow, and out fitted with flow fuel cells he rivalled even the sanhidrin in his mastery of magic. When they realized they had been found out they surgically hid the mana drive In Tezzriac when he was only 13. Tezz has been runing since then, the key to returning to earth in his chest. He lives to kill the God emperor and continue his parents work. If they perfect this technology the good that could be accomplished. He will not allow even this God emperor to stand in the way of progress. powers abilities: Tezz is human. But his power over the flow is much greater than any human should have. He was created to be the ultimate flow user, combining DNA from the two other magic races into his genes while he was still an embryo. As such he uses pure magic. He can create barriers, fire shots of flow with his mind, he has telekinesis and can bend flow around him to mask his presence, . But his most powerful ability is, the warp drive. Using the mana drive, he has learned to warp him self a maximum of ten meters, anyone standing close to him when he appears or disappears will be thrown aside by a violent burst of flow. he can also warp objects if he is allowed time to focus on them. But all his power comes at a cost. Weaknesses: Tess is frail. He gets little exercises and while is not chubby in the slightest, is not very strong either. He commands and impressive amount of flow but at most he can only fight for three minutes at a time before becoming too mentally fatigued and is forced to retreat. He suffers from huge migraines after fighting and can only use warp drive three times a day. He out puts lots of power but runs out of steam very fast. He has no armour, and no other means to defend him self. goals: Tezz is amassing power, enough power to challenge the emperor. He seeks the mysterious Sanhedrin to learn more about the flow So he can use it to kill the emperor. During that time he was known for his temper and Until he made a crucial mistake he crashed a military vehicle which resulted in hundreds of dead civilians. The crashed happened for the simple reason that he was on narcotics at the time. He spent time in prison after that (10 years to be exact). Eventually he escaped due to a riot going on and has been on the run ever since. At the moment he's working in the criminal underground smuggling illegal weapons, drugs and people on to the ring using his former skills as a Guard. Skills/ Special Abilities: As a former Guard, who is and where he is now he has a host of skills. Combat training, can operate military vehicles, weapons training and all that sort of thing. He can't use the flow but his thinking is along the lines of "What good is the flow to you when your head gets blown off." Maleif (Fan7asticMrFox): Spoiler Character Name: Malief Race/Species: Sanhedrin Appearance: Malief is identical to almost every Sanhedrin, with no facial features except for two solid white eyes. He stands at a meagre 5ft 5, has shadowy black skin and a thin build, which is concealed in his dark red hooded robe with grey patterned trimmings. While ordinary Sanhedrin try not to draw attention to themselves with black robes, Malief adds a human quality to his personality – showing other races that Sanhedrins do in fact think differently to one another. Background: Not much is known about Malief’s past before his time on Surmarack. When he found his way onto the Tak’Ralith, meaning “Ring of Worlds”, Malief began his new life in the lower levels, using his understanding of the flow to scam lesser minds. However he knew small time hustles were never going to sate his ambition, and instead focused his efforts on obtaining certain information. Within only a few weeks he had already spread his influence throughout large parts of the lower levels, using supposed ordinary people to spy on competition, enemies, friends, anything that breathed and had resource. Through his instinct, information and use of flow, Malief was able to convince two drug cartels to go to war. When the fighting was done, he waltzed in and picked up the pieces for himself. Through a front as a pharmacy, he was able to trade illegal product almost in broad daylight and business has been so successful that many regard him as one of the richest ‘aliens’. Most see through the rouse of his business, but none will ever call Malief on it because of the possible information he has on them and their families. Some call him ‘The Virus’, with his bacteria of spies plaguing many corners of Surmarack. Skills/ Special Abilities: Malief commands the flow, but not as well as most Sanhedrin. While it can just about protect himself in combat, he prefers to focus on his brain power on the business of information, economy and politics. Equipment: Does not carry such material things. Weapons: The flow will protect and guide him. Miscellaneous: Malief has a Isthus steward known to most as Tali, who carries out the duties of her master and relays important information back. There are some who believe Tali’s true identity is actually Veiya, the supremely cold and efficient assassin feared by all of Surmarack’s most influential. But Tali flatty denies such foolish rumours. She usually wears a black skin tight armour suit made out of the finest ultra-light Kevlar, and a lightweight helmet with tinted visor so as not to be identified, or ridiculed because of her race. The pair of them communicate telepathically using the flow. Malief is very insistent in becoming a member of the Merchant Guild; however they deny him due to his “activities”. Malief argues that they have no proof of any illegal trading and due to his status and wealth he cannot be refused membership. Personality wise, Malief is cunning and efficient. He ways up most choices dependant on their return and value, and tends to speak in riddles to obscure his true meaning. Racism towards Sanhedrin is done either behind Malief’s back or towards his steward – but never directly at him for obvious reasons. Family/House: Malief is an indirect advisor to House Douway. Their trade agreements make them a perfect candidate to work with, and sources believe Malief invests heavily in the house to persuade their agendas in his favour. Faction: It is believed he is unaligned. Goals: Power. Ajax (Macaberz) Spoiler Character Name: Ajax Race/Species: Sanhedrin Appearance: Ajax is a half-sanhedrin, half-human. He is considered an anomaly by most of either race. He has the eyes of a human, and stands about 5 ft 7 tall. His eyes are a vivid green. He usually wears black goggles over them though, to hide the fact that he was born blind. These goggles are an advanced piece of technology that he managed to scavenge and allow him to see well, even in the dark. His skin is black like all other Sanhedrin, his build is slender. Ajax dresses in the typical black robes, altough he has made some modifications to them. The most graphical one being the red neckerchief he likes to wear and the fact that he almost always has his hood down. He has also tightened the robes here and there, to make sure that he doesn't entangle himself when he needs to run away. He is well muscled for a Sanhedrin, but he has the Sanhedrin trait to pick brains over brawl and therefore can't deliver the heaviest of punches. Background: Like all Sanhedrin, Ajax's history is shrouded in secrecy. He has never spoken to anyone about his background and therefore many assume he has no clue who birthed him. The mystery surrounding this man is so great that no one even knows if his mother or his father delivered the Sanhedrin blood that now flows through his veins. What is known is that Ajax is a mediocre flow user for a Sanhedrin, though his looks betray Sanhedrin inflluences and his tongue is a sharp as any of the enigmatic aliens, he much prefers the human, melee way of fighting. He deems all users of long-range weapons cowards, unworthy of the title warrior, a term which describes Ajax rather well. He has been trained by the best Sanhedrin fighters but fled the boot camp because of the constant bullying he received due to his halfbreed nature. He trained himself relentlessly, eager to become the very best Sanhedrin warrior. He soon discovered different fighting styles and blended them in with his own, yet he never integrated long-range weapons into his fighting set, a stubborn ideal which might end up harming him. Skills/ Special Abilities: Ajax is a natural fighter when it comes to it. He has the discipline of a legionnaire, the toughness of a spartan and the courage of a lion. His command of the Flow is below average. He is fast but also lightly armored. His goggles enabled him to see and serve him even better at night. Equipment: His goggles, a few pouches strapped to his belt containing some exotic herbs and tools (like a lockpicker). Weapons: Two curved daggers Miscellaneous: Ajax is a warrior first and foremost. He is loyal to the man with the money, and no one else. He has a soft spot for the young innocents and poor, but not so much that he would hesitate executing one of those if he was commanded to do so. His drive is and has always been to become the greatest warrior, circumstances however, might force him to exchange his fierceness for empathy. Family/House: Ajax is a guard of House Douway. Faction: He is unaligned. Goals: Becoming the ultimate warrior. Oliver Douway (Macaberz): Spoiler Name: Oliver Douway. Age: 12. Race: Human. Appearance & character: Oliver stands 5 feet and 1 inch tall, he has light blonde, scruffy hair and dark-brown eyes. He is a bit skinny and has a frail look about him. His meekness hides his mischief however, though he generally respects the rules he is in the habit of defying them when he sees fit. His playful nature and curiosity render him a nuisance to his mother, Roselyn, and older brother, David. Though he shares some features with his mother, he and David are like water and fire; opposites. Oliver was never interested in becoming a lord or training up, but for what little he has in muscularity, he makes up with wit and intelligence. Though not astronomously brighter than any twelve-year-old ought to be, Oliver is a quick learner and can provide fresh insights into difficult situations. Spoiler Oliver's biggest fear is abandonment. Though he shares little with his brother and mother, he still cares deeply for them. The distance between him and his brother and mother wounds him deeply. He very much dislikes being excluded from all Douway errands and takes it as an insult to his character. Oliver is not easily forced into despair. Even in the most daunting situations he can pierce the darkness with his optimism, gentle nature and smiles. Some call him the very sigil of innocence, others scoff that he is merely a naive child. House: Douway. Skills: Oliver's greatest skills are his tactical insights (both political and militarily), and his gentle nature. Of all the Douways Oliver is the best representative of the poor which the Douways have a record of supporting. Weapons: none, though to persons of an equally gentle nature, his smile can be disarming. Goals: to please his mother and brother and support those in need Aurora (Kietsumah): Spoiler Name: Aurora (last name is unknown) Race/Species: Isthus Appearance: She is tall and slim in build, but gives the appearance of being a tad frail with her large eyes and timid personality. She is unusual for her long, pale blue hair, and wears a plain white dress with little ornamentation other than a line of runes around her waist. Background: Born and raised as a slave of the House of Sorven, she knew a fairly easy life as she was called upon to tend to the women and children. But she always had an incredible fear for males of any species or race, and was quick to hide. But, once the visions started, she was never left alone. Powerful images would flood her mind, as well as sound and feeling, which would drive her into near insanity. She always had guards posted nearby, and became nothing more than a conduit for Sorven's frustrations and longing for more power. He would demand her to See that which she could not do by will alone, and became a terrified shadow of what she had once been -a quiet, simple girl who kept the children fit and healthy. Skills/Special Abilities: - Visions - Balance-null - Sight-null - Hearing-null Equipment: None Weapons: None but her own magic abilities Misc: All men terrify her, especially after the abuse that she went through by the guard's hands who knew that she would never tell Sorven. They were happy, everything seemed to be going completely fine, until the day Soyenus was thrown into war. A rouge criminal Isthus turned on his planet. He started an army, and even used some of the wild animals of the planet as warriors. Uiron and his sister were known as some of the best warriors, based on their own feats and that of their parents in previous wars. Though, since their parents had been assassinated before the war began, it was up to them to lead many armies. The planet was thrown into a civil war. After it was over and the world was restored back to normal. Uiron and his sister had led the armies to victory, but Uiron had last an arm in the battle. Her long, delicate ears stick out from her platinum silver hair, matching her gray eyes. A deep scar winds up her right arm, from wrist to elbow. Orielle is self-conscious of it, for personal reasons, so she wears long blue gloves to cover the fact. Her attire is one of a Isthus warrior, a light-weight tunic of blue with silver accents. Background: Abandoned by her parents at an early age, Orielle had to fend for herself, stooping so low as to beg for scraps and steal. Eventually she was caught by the authorities. Her ‘punishment’ was to offer her servitude in the Temple, which she did for five years. She learned much of the religion at that time and gave full allegiance to Savos Manan. Although, her rebellious nature still lingered and when her time had been paid, she decided to abandon the only friends she had. During her retreat on the streets alone, she soon ran into some trouble with a man in the outskirts of Coranum. She ignored him but still he wouldn’t leave her alone, harassing her to an uncomfortable extent. Before he could do anything further, someone came to Orielle’s rescue, a fellow Isthus. Uiron fought off her enemy and invited Orielle to his parent’s home for a meal. After their encounter, Orielle became a friend of the Nedurayr House and eventually adopted into the family. Skills/Special Abilities: Like most Isthus, Orielle can tap into the future, seeing through time to prophesy what is to come. Although, she also suffers from this ability and re-lives horrific visions of her childhood at spontaneous moments. Darkness lingers in them and it’s almost as if having a nightmare while awake. Orielle is skilled in battle and has done much killing during her years of war. She can create flow fields, enabling her to protect herself or others in battle. In turn, she can put her field around the enemy to distort their reality. Equipment: Orielle always travels light, so nothing but a pouch on her belt in which she keeps food or other necessities she finds along the way. Weapons: Her staff embellished with sharp knife wings of metal that she carries with her always. Can be used to create her fields or in self-defense. Miscellaneous: Orielle looks up to Uiron greatly and is actually quite fond of him, although she’d never admit to it. She hides behind her competitive nature, always trying to beat him in duels and debates. Family/House: Nedurayr House Faction: Suvos Mactan Goals: To continue fighting beside Uiron for control of the Imperium; gaining fame, fortune, and of course security for the Galaxy. Brezzo Corun (Cynglen): Spoiler Character Name: Brezzo Corun Race/Species: Lynxine Appearance: Brezzo is a typical, early-middle-age example of the Lynxine race, standing a healthy 5'10" (not including his ears, which reach 2 inches higher) and covered in a thick, dark-red fur. He is sturdily built, with callused hands from a lifetime of using them. Brezzo dresses in clothing with is both respectable and practical (always with a collar, casual or not), since he is frequently in the presence of influential strangers and close friends all in one night. Background: Brezzo came to Surmarack in his travels as a performer/explorer, and found employment among Coranum's small-time music scene. He performed with one-night-bands in bars, restraints, street corners, and parks for about half a year after arriving on the station. All the while, Brezzo was intensely curious about the humans--he had never been around so many at once--and eagerly asked all who would answer about their history, culture, technology, cooking, and whatever else the conversations stumbled upon. After about a year on Surmarack, his curiosity to learn more about human history put him in contact with House Jarn, and thus Alaouda. Brezzo befriended a few of the more adventurous Jarns, and they allowed him to join their expeditions out into the areas of the station not covered in sprawling cities but rolling hills and vibrant forests. The members of the House came to enjoy and value Brezzo's curiosity, musical skills, and eagerness to learn, and offered him employment. He now works as a field researcher for the House, exploring the ecosystems of Surmarack to gain insight into what kind of world the humans came from and where they should seek to find the long-lost planet. Skills/ Special Abilities: Brezzo is a talented musician, performing with either his personal Kitlel (similar to the human concertina) or sitting down at a piano if there is one available. His gift for musical patterns and creativity is a side effect of his remarkable acoustic perception. Brezzo can detect and pinpoint sounds far fainter than most members of other (and even his own) species. When performing, he will often listen into the subtle comments of his audience to judge how they are enjoying the music. When exploring, Brezzo uses his gift to find hidden animals, discreet caves, and detect danger long before it spots him. Despite his musical, roaming lifestyle, Brezzo also has a healthy knowledge of geography and atmospheric science. This is mostly from reading books and books on the subjects, supplemented with four long expeditions into the wilder regions of Sumarack, and he considers the study of nature more of hobby than a true profession. But, he has proved competent enough for House Jarn to higher him for just that knowledge. Brezzo is relatively proficient with his rifle, due to long periods spent out exploring where such skills are needed, but lacks the martial arts skills the Lynxine are known for. He does possess the Lynxines' deadly claws for grappling combat, but Brezzo usually disengages before those are needed. Equipment: As a civilian, Brezzo's equipment is not the best nor newest in the world. His standard field gear contains food, water, binoculars, maps, his Kitlel, 5-inch knife, rope, phone, and a rifle for hunting/self defense. He carries his Kitlel in his back pack while out in the field. Weapons: His field knife and well-used rifle, both personal possessions which Brezzo keeps up as well as he can. Miscellaneous: While money and food are always valuable, Brezzo prizes friends and loyalty above all other things. He places the utmost respect on those who have earned it, and will eagerly assist and defend his friends and expect them to do the same for him. Even to those who he does not depend on, Brezzo is kind and patient--a product of his early years of performing where persistence and a kind face were as important as musical skill. Brezzo is no stranger to the racism towards his species. Being affiliated with a House causes most of the bigots to stay away, but there are those bold enough, both within and without House Jarn, to give him trouble. Family/House:*Employed by House Jarn as a geographic researcher and musician, and personal friend of Mason, Carlson, and Nathan Jarn, three cousins of the House. Faction:*Favors the Alaouda, mostly out of curiosity for the human's origin. Very curious to learn about humanity's origins, but not interested in warring over scientific expeditions. Goals: Learn all he can about humanity's history, including finding Paradisus, and continue building respect and loyalty with House Jarn until he becomes a true member of the family. Family/House: Yldrig Faction: Suvos Mactan Evumeimei Dingzai (Erik-the-Enchanter): Spoiler Character Name: Evumeimei Dingzai (aka, Evvy) Race/Species: Human Appearance: Early twenties, but she doesn't know her exact age because she doesn't know her birthday. Tall, slender, strong bone structure, long ebony hair and a dark brown complexion. Can always be seen wearing a purple scarf over her waist-length hair to keep it out of the way. People find her steady unblinking gaze creepy. Background: Evvy was never taught magic. She had the talent, but she was turned away from masters of the Flow because she seemed "disturbed". She was also a homeless orphan that escaped the slave trade, so she had no coin or family to vouch for her. So she taught herself magic by trial and error. It was a long, excruciating process, filled with set-backs and frustrations, but once she gained traction, she didn't stop. Her way of using the Flow makes other people feel uncomfortable. It is all wrong and backwards and it shouldn't work, but somehow it does. She cannot do many things that a properly trained magic-user can do, but she has her own tricks, as well. Skills/Special Abilities: Making 1-3 people feel like their head is full of bees (all they hear is bees and they can "feel" flying around in their skull), turning sunlight into plasma bolts and whatever they hit sets on fire, levitating her body in one direction at a time, and the ability to always see everything around her at once, or 'panoramic vision'. She can't shut off her panoramic vision, which leads to some mental problems. Also, when she is extremely furious she can teleport someone to a place she calls 'the Cornfield'. It is an endless field of maize that stretches to every horizon with an unbearably hot sun beating down from the sky and angry crows that swoop down to scratch you with their talons, so that your only choice is to run and run. She can only keep someone in the Cornfield for a full minute, but they feel like they were there for an endless time period. This power comes at a great cost, draining all her energy and putting her in a day-long coma. When the person reappears, they go back to where they were before she teleported them and they will be exhausted and dehydrated. Equipment: Powerful sleeping potion that she uses to drug herself to go to sleep, or else she won't ever be able to rest. She can poison others with it and get them to fall asleep if she choses. The sleeping potion lasts for eight or nine hours. Weapons: Evvy is very skilled with a pocket knife. Family/House: Evvy is an orphan and she does not know her family, only her name 'Dingzai', which was given to her by the mistress of the orphanage. Faction: Suvos Mactan Goals: Find out who destroyed the temple leader and kill all who were involved, and loot whatever is of value along the way. Riviera (SammyDeena): Spoiler Character Name: Riviera Race/Species: Sanhedrin Appearance: Riviera stands at 4 ft flat, but she's built with the lean grace of a young leopard cub - tight muscles and supple ASSets, but a bit lacking on the bust side. Her skin is pale white, which contrasts with the crimson red of her round eyes and small lips. Silvery locks flow down just beneath her shoulders, straight strands that curl at the tips. Though few people get a chance to see this underneath her strange garments. She dons a black hooded cloak that are torn and frayed at the edges, clasped together by a single silver buckle with the symbol of a hexagon. It lay over a black tank top inlaid with strange symbols, and black trousers lined with silver runes. She walks around barefooted. Her feet are the only visible parts of her body along with the face (given the right angle, but that rarely happens). Why? Because Her entire upper body - except the face - is covered in white bandages, from the waist up to the base of her neck and the tips of her fingers. Finally, she wears a silver necklace with a single ruby - the only piece of jewelry she has on her body. Background: Riviera is probably everything the Sanhedrin race isn't; peppy, outgoing, and openly curious. The only thing that set her apart as a Sanhedrin - other than her physical appearance - is her choice of black clothing. And even then it's borderline inappropriate for someone like her. Because of these factors she's considered a renegade; her own people don't want to have anything to do with her. It would have been fine if she was simply different from other Sanhedrin, but being employed by the Vandemir family as a lowly bodyguard was the last straw, only because she felt the need to find a master who would understand her curious wants and needs. No, actually the last straw was her blatantly declaring that she desires to see Earth for herself, inadvertently aligning herself with the Alaouda. No wait, the last straw was her vowing to break all veils of mystery surrounding the Sanhedrin. That almost got her killed. She is a warrior with great skills, with a gift in weaponsmithing - though she only managed to create one weapon, it was a powerful one. Plus, she tattooed herself with runes to have finer and more powerful control of the Flow. The result is an amazing bodyguard that has helped defend the Vandemir family from many threats... that is, until the attack. Now she seeks the remaining survivors of the family. She's gotten wind that Jessica and Arthur Vandemir were still alive in Surmarack, and she's taking it upon herself to find them both and protect what's left of the family and what they stand for. Skills/ Special Abilities: Skills: Acrobatics Stealth Hyper Reflexes Quick Learner Cooking Writing Haiku Special Abilities: Runic Magic - The ability to utilize the Flow in the form of runes, with varying effects. Riviera in particular likes to use runes to enhance her physical abilities (much like burning pewter in Mistborn) and to create platforms in mid-air fror her to jump on. The runes are inlaid on her top and trousers, but her bandages cover the runes that give her clairvoyance - three seconds into the future. This clairvoyance comes at a price, however. She loses one year of her life for every three seconds. Shadowmeld - The ability to cloak oneself in shadow, becoming invisible to all forms of detection. The downside is that light dispels the shadows, and her vision is decreased to the point that everything seems twice as dark as before. Equipment: Portable Med-Kit Holograph Generator Phone Length of Rope Portable Home Dimension Box Weapons: Multi-Variant Class Weapon [Tsukikanade] - This is Riviera's primary weapon, a sword that shifts form according to her will. It is crafted from a metal that only the Sanhedrin knows, giving it a silvery luminescence. It resembles a single-edged sword (like Zangetsu, only smaller and more metallic and futuristic). In its dormant form, it's folded upon itself, inside a leather sheathe on the back of her waist. It has four forms which she could fluidly shift in combat: 1) Sword Form - The default mode, which is effective against most situations, especially in melee. 2) Gun Form - It's not the most accurate weapon there is, but it helps shoot those hard-to-reach targets. 3) Scythe Form - Riviera usually uses this when she's up against multiple enemies. 4) Wing Feather Form - The blade splits into six sharp 'feathers,' which she can manipulate by swinging the sword's handle. This is her trump card, to be used sparingly. Miscellaneous: The Blood Ruby - The necklace she wears. It holds no significant powers or runes, but it should be noted than when it is taken away from her, she's more prone to enter a berserk state. It was a memento from her deceased mother, after all. Family/House: House Vandemir Faction: Alaouda Goals: To find someone to protect and serve; To shatter all walls between the Sanhedrin and the rest of the races; To see what Earth is like.
