I can't choose between Seattle(great area, genuinely friendly people,inexpensive) and Copenhagen(great area,exceedingly beautiful people, but very very expensive)
Ontario Canada. Very clean and very friendly folk. and Stanley Falklands Island is also very friendly and clean.
Except for the price (I was broke at the time) I liked Vancouver British Columbia. It had the largest park I had ever seen, and looked nice.
Great places I really liked Lucca Italy. Nice old town with ancient walls around it. nice people, not too touristy. It was very easy to get lost in the mazes of the old city within the walls. And there is this really great restaurant that has literally thousands of Copper pots hanging from the ceiling. foxbrains
Oh that's hard... Like Cog, I love San Francisco. I also like Boston tremendously.... But generally, I think I'm going to have to say NYC. I've never had more fun than when I was in NYC.
^wooooo yay ^ my favorite city is the one I live in. Vancouver/island- Now that doesn't happen very often. The nicest places I have visited was the coast of san Diego. Just loved the atmosphere there.
A very tough question - easier to name places I was disappointed with (Rome, Paris, Berlin, Prague) - I have really enjoyed the time I've spent in the following but that is more the people I was with (Cordoba, Reims, Dresden, Basel) - my favourites though may well be whee I live or where I studied because I know them so well (Manchester, Newcastle, Reims). Many places left to explore ...
Ripon!! it is tiny, hardly really worth being called a city, but it is as it has a catherdral and it is soo cute, i love it there. either there, or Durham, which just has a great feel to it.
I have to say, I really like the Phoeniz, AZ area. The city itself is on the boring side, but the surrounding desert is amazing.
My favourite city is Bukhara, Uzbekistan. In Europe I guess I like Vienna the most, although I also love Tallinn/Reval and St. Petersburg.
of all the many 'great' to small cities i've been privileged to visit in many decades of travel, paris is still my favorite, with san francisco running a close second [though i'm a native ny-er and have a soft spot in my heart for that metropolis, too]... athens breathes down their neck for third, though only for the plaka and the acropolis and its museums, the deadly smog and terminal traffic making the rest a less than pleasurable ambiance... supposedly, they've dealt with the traffic problem, but 'twasn't so when i was there last in about '98...
I have spent sometime in Inverness Scoltland. In the mornings I used to go down to the lochness about 6am and watch the mist float above the water, and listen to the gentle sounds of the water and ghostly sounds. Very magical place. Though I still haven't Seen Nessy.
That's a good point, Raven. Northernmost Scotland is a very nice place. I'm lucky enough to have family living near Inverness. The countryside is very beautiful up there
I wish I could say I had a favourite city but nooo... Little Miss Eoz hasn't even been out of her wretched state!
