    Is Anyone Fluent in Latin?

Discussion in 'Research' started by Lilith Addington, May 19, 2016.

There's several spots in my book where I reference old texts (not real texts, things I made up for my novel) and they're in Latin. I used google translate for my first draft, but....*coughs* google translate isn't always accurate. So: is there anyone on here who's fluent in Latin who can help me out? I just want to make sure that my translations are as accurate as possible, since I'm planning on self publishing my book.

    Thanks!

Mmm I'm not fluent by any means but I took a couple years in high school so I could maybe help you out a little. Google translate will definitely not help you. Try a Latin/English online dictionary. The verb endings will probably be what gets you.

How much stuff have you got that needs translation? Is is just a few phrases, or what? I know a couple of people (off the forum) who might be able to help.
