Is having your poetry in a juried art show worth mentioning in a query?

Discussion in 'The Craft of Writing Poetry' started by lettuchi, Sep 4, 2012.

    Hi all,

My only publication credits are in my undergraduate literary journal, two years in a row. Some of the poetry was also featured in a juried art show in Rochester,NY. Is any of this worth mentioning in a query?

Publishers frankly don't care about your art show. What they want is good poetry/prose. If you won a Newbery for it, then maybe you can talk.
