I've always been curious about his recursive stuff, like where he gets involved with one of his books, although the billionaire dinosaur jet aircraft hovercarrier stuff is not without a certain appeal.

Hold on, guys. This is actually a thing? Is it some kind of joke?

I thought it was some kind of euphemism for some particular kind of erotica. This is actual copulation with dinosaurs.:confused::confused:

It's Chuck Tingle, so it's tinged heavily with parody / irony. It does actually exist, though.

Yes. If one slightly rephrases Rule #34 of the Internet to say "If it is a thought that can be thunk, there is porn of it" then it falls well within the realm of the possible. ;) And as mentioned by @Hypatios, there is quite a bit of tongue in cheek, parody, and irony in his work, so one must read past the surface story to really engage this work.

I just want you all to know that I love your dearly for the genuine entertainment you bring to my engagement of the forum. In a very, very alternate universe we're all involved in a Sense8-style snog sesh. ;)

(yes, I went and made it weird) :-D

I follow Chuck Tingle on Twitter and it's one of the best social media decisions I've ever made. He (if Chuck is indeed a he) has a very unique and sometimes bizarre posting style, but I'm weird enough that they're right up my alley for entertainment purposes. His livetweeting of the presidential debates had me rolling on the floor. Also I'm in awe of how quickly and prolifically he can churn out his 4,000 word "Tinglers".

I know what snog is, but never heard of Sense8. As long as penicillin clears it up though, I'll be willing to give it a go :)

If you ever happen to watch the show (It's on Netflix), you'll learn that such a session is as safe from the need of antibiotics as one could possibly ask for. :-D

Something like that, yes. No tech required, though, in the Sense8 version. :bigwink:

From what I witnessed myself while browsing through fantasy writer’s community the cliché you are referring to is not gay, it’s actually hetero-teen. Fantasy is a popular genre among young female writers for various reasons (in my opinion male teen writers prefer space opera). It’s flashy, colorful, with lots of fancy costumes and unpractical weaponry inlaid with gold and gemstones. And writing in this genre does not require a lot of research and realistic background. So it’s a natural choice for beginners. Straight teenage girls love to dream about “gay romance” involving pretty boys’ in anime-bishounen style (same as straight young male writers are always into “lesbian fantasies”). It’s not actually gay. It’s just teenage sex fantasies.

The real gay romance is a rare breed in fantasy literature. I can name only few names and titles.

I have no problem with gay cliche, but there has to be a balance between cliche, the world, and the individuality.
