    Punctuation help needed

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by jazzabel, Mar 26, 2013.

I have a bit of a punctuation situation at the end of this dialogue sentence:

Does anyone have an idea how to avoid '''." ? :D
Or alternatively, would you notice it if you read it?

I suppose the easiest way is to change: 'Madame Tussaud's'." to: Madame Tussaud's."

Not sure why the single quotes are needed here, unless there is something in the context that I'm missing.

there's no need for the ' ' at all... that solves the problem... it's the same as if you wrote:

"Let's go shopping. There's a big sale on at Macy's."
