Sack-a-Doo! I DO agree with everything you've said...and I'm thankful for the input you are providing on several different topics.

The "!" you were questioning was a typo. So, I tried to make an ineffective joke about not going back for a 'rewrite' and missing the '!' that somehow slipped through on my comment. This was done because you were discussing 'rewriting' on another thread called
    Aaaaaaaarrrrrgghhhh!!!!.

In short, I confused two threads, made a dumb joke, was buzzed on coffee, and let a typo slip through.
I can't insert smiley faces yet, otherwise I would put one here_____.

I use weather if it serves a purpose. Its can be extremely powerful. I mean the book the perfect storm had the weather as a character pretty much. I do think there can be a point where it is useless though. I dont need to know what the whether is every time your character steps outside. While the author creates the world, there should still be room for the reader to create the imagine in their mind as they read too.

Whether weather is weathering is withering.

    Riders on the storm
    Wriders on the storm
    Into this house we're born
    Into this world we're thrown
Like a dog without a bone
    An actor out alone
    Writers on the storm
    - Doors

If the weather fits wear it, in your story, whether or not others agree.

Didn't mean to type and post this, the weather caused my arthritic fingers to pound the keyboard all on their own.

edited to change riders - guess it wasn't obvious enough as phonetically like writer. :)
