Short Story I've written it, but what is it?

    I actually like Courier....


    it helps with the mindset sometimes. Maybe that goes back to aesthetics
    as covered in another thread.
    Rei, I realized I was using Open Office's standard format, which is .79 margins all the way around.
    I changed that to 1.0, changed my font to courier and now I am looking at 43 pages.
    hoo boy...

    courier is the most universally acceptable font and of course, 12 pt is the mandated type size for any font...

    while 12k may be referred to by publishers, few [if any] will take on a piece that long...

    and 80-100k is the optimum for first novels by a new, unknown writer... with 100k being the max for most publishers... next to no publisher will look at a 200k ms unless the writer is known to them, as that would come out to over 500 pages in a published book...
