Well it's taken 3 years to get this far. Holmes was found guilty of murder after 13 hours of deliberation. Now he remains to be sentenced, and the jury will decide whether the death penalty is appropriate. Which would mean that we'd be spending another million per year to give him his appeals, for an average of 10 years. Frankly not just as a Coloradoan, but being from Aurora (I go to that theater all the time. We almost went to go see The Dark Knight Rises the same night.) I'm much more inclined to stick him deep in a hole and let him rot away into obscurity. Super Max had been good enough for the Unibomber, Bundy, and Charles Manson. I don't think we need to waste more time and energy just to send the message that, "If you kill someone, we'll dick around for a decade, and might eventually put you to death, maybe."
