would a bethrothed have a long name too??

Discussion in 'Research' started by Cornflower, May 9, 2011.

I'm writing a sequel to my Anne In Ellabur story. I have long names for 3 of my characters:

King Alexander Basil George Henry Charming. (Dad)

my character: Queen Anne Victoria Ella Charming (mom)

    son (hero)
    Prince Ade Fernando Eric Charming

in our castle, Ade's betrothed lives with us. I want to know if she would have a long name too?? She has a first name. Nayla and when I do come up with other names for her would her title be "Her Ladyship"?

    something like this:

Her Ladyship Nayla Catherine Babel Avalon (Avalon is the last name) ??

I think that her title before the marriage is whatever it has been all her life. Only after marriage would she acquire a title specific to being the Prince's wife.

It sounds like this is a fantasy series, right? So do whatever you want. The titling of members of the royal family varies from country to country, so if you want to give her a title, do it. If you don't, don't.

    ditto that!

it's your story, not anyone else's, so don't ask others to make up your mind for you... the name/title can be anything you want it to be, that makes sense in the context of your story...
