    Pitching to Agents at conferences

Discussion in 'Agent Discussion' started by Commandante Lemming, Apr 6, 2016.

Hey all - I'm doing a writing conference this weekend and I have two ten minute pitch sessions with agents. Has anyone done these before?

I know you're supposed to do a variation of the same stuff you say in the query but I'm wondering about the best way to structure it. It would feel weird going in and just launching into the plot - my gut is to treat it almost like a really short job interview and give the credentials up front and THEN talk plot. But this is a pretty new experience, so I'm not sure quite how to approach it.

Just get excited about your ideas, and make them excited about them too.

Jack is right. Be confident, and don't stop and get lost half way through. Best of luck!

I can only give you others' advice but I'm working on similar subjects. My book is almost done and I can't yet tell someone what it's about in 25 words of less.

I found quite a bit of useful wealth on this page.
