I'm not exactly Buddhist, but these are two of my very favorite quotes:

Someone who is about to admonish another must realize within himself five qualities before doing so [that he may be able to say], thus:

"In due season will I speak, not out of season. In truth I will speak, not in falsehood. Gently will I speak, not harshly. To his profit will I speak, not to his loss. With kindly intent will I speak, not in anger."

-"Vinaya Pitaka," translated by F.S. Woodward

    and the other:

Sitting peacefully on a cushion day and night seeking to attain Buddhahood, rejecting life and death in hopes of realizing enlightenment, is all like a monkey grasping at the moon reflected in the water.

That would be the song "Honesty" by Billy Joel, the second coolest piano player EVER. (The first being Ray Charles and the third being the guy from Styx.) It goes a'li'l'summ'in'like dis:

    "Honesty
    Is such a lonely word
    Everyone is so untrue
    Honesty
    Is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you."

Of course, that's from memory, so I could be wrong.

    "Awww yeah, that's right baby.
Girl, tonight we're gonna make love.
You know how I know baby? Cause it's Wednesday.
And Wednesday night is the night that we make love.
Tuesday night is the night when you go visit your mother
But Wednesday night is the night that we make love.
Everything is just right. Conditions are perfect.
There's nothing good on TV...conditions are perfect.
You lean in close and say something sexy like, "I think I'll go to bed, I have work in the morning."
But I know what you're trying to say baby.
You're trying to say, "Awww yeah, it's business time."

    It's business, it's business time.
That's what you're trying to say, you're trying to say it's business time.
    It's business, it's business time.

Next thing you know, we're in the bathroom brushing our teeth.
That's all part of it, that's foreplay.
Then you go to sort out the recycling.
That's not part of it, but it's still very important.
    Then we're in the bedroom.
You're wearing that ugly, baggy old t-shirt from that team building exercise for your old work.
And it's never looked better on you.
Oh, you don't know what you're doing to me.
I remove my pants but trip over them because I've still got my shoes on.
But I turn it into a sexy dance.
Next thing you know I'm down to just my socks.
And you know when I'm down to just my socks what time it is.
It's time for business. It's business time.

    It's business, it's business time.
You know when I'm down to just my socks it's business time, that's why they're business socks.
    It's business, it's business time.

    Making love.
    Making love for two.
    Making love for two minutes.
When it's with me, you only need two minutes. Because I'm so intense.
Two minutes in heaven is better that one minute in heaven.
You say something like, "Is that it?"
But I know what you're trying to say.
You're trying to say, "Awww yeah baby, that's it."
Then you tell me you want some more.
    Well, I'm not surprised.
    But I am quite sleepy.

    It's business, it's business time.
    Business hours are over.
    It's business, it's business time."

nice quote, from a bad book. The only thing I liked about that particular entry from the Euro novel is the bit where they cut her husband open to find him, empty.
