So.. I asked a magic eight ball if I was ready to submit my work. It said, ask again later... I feel this is a sign to not do it yet... despite the impending dead line. /stresses immensely
Magic 8 balls are bullshit. I mean, even if we work on the assumption that they're not, it said 'ask again later', not 'no, don't bother'. It doesn't mean anything. It's not read your work.
Logically yes, but I think I'm just trying to find something wrong with my work. Like, it can't be any good, y'know? Hmm.. I may have issues Some sleep will help for sure.
Whoa, hang on. The Magic 8 Ball was telling us that "Outlook is not good" decades before Microsoft even existed. Nailed that one.
E.l. James to the 8-ball - Am I ready to submit? 8-ball - E.L. James one year later - hey, 8-ball sucks to be you 8-ball -
... Why did no one make an emoticon based magic 8-ball?! Also, I feel loads better now :3 Seems that going through my MS, doing the cover letter, making sure I hit all the right points just took it out of me and I was being overly fussy. Wish I remembered. I think I did ask "Am I"
Oracles, like Magic 8 Ball or the "I Ching", work, but they're not magic. They are only mirrors, reflecting back to you what you already know, but just needed an excuse to externalize. It's not 8 Ball's answer -- it's your answer. Put another way, don't look as much at what you're reading, but how you are reading it! The psychological process is sometimes called externalizing, when a problem cannot be internally solved, the mind will externalize to solve it. (Actually you can do it with anything written, but no matter which technique you use, all answers are from inside the questioner's mind; understanding of how he/she reads...)
