Apparently, there was some sort of electronic locking device on the door. It could only be opened from the outside. And the mom was led to believe that the daughter had run away. She even raised 3 of the kids. The dad told her that the daughter left them on the porch for them to raise. SICKO!

I still find it hard to believe that she didn't suspect anything was going on...

i don't see my question to raven as doing that... i won't go any further with this, since you seem to be spoiling for a fight and i don't... 'fight' that is...

i didn't consider cnn and fox and all the major network news shows in both us and uk as restricted to 'austria'...

i can agree with you on that wholeheartedly... let's agree to disagree politely on the rest, ok?...

    love and hugs, maia

Unfortunately, I don't have either at boarding school.

    Deal.

    Peace.

Last night on the news they said the daughter was reunited with her mum after having not seen her for 24 years, so sounds like there are a few different versions of the story floating around.

I'm only echoing what's already been said, but it's absolutely sick, I find it incomprehensible. How or why anyone would do that is beyond me.

Hmmm. He's apparently stopped giving police information. Sounds like someone got a lawyer, but who would want to try and defend that? I think there'll probably be an insanity defence, or a history of abuse towards himself, or some other rubbish.

It amazes me how someone would want to defend this filth. However the law says everyone is entitled to a defence.

To refer to him as scum is defamatory to swamp algae. But he deserves his day in court to put it on official record that he is the vilest, most useless form of life yet encountered.

I don't know what "grind grains' means but it sounds too nice.

I like the idea of lobotomy followed with a life time job of cleaning public streets would be a good start.

What I don't get is how the mother didn't notice for 24 years; I mean the guy went on holiday to Japan without her a few times. Didn't she EVER wonder what the hell was in that cellar and why that creep was constantly going down there?!

What a sicko - reminds me of the other Austrian guy who made the news and had kept his kids in some sort of mini 'nazi camp' and was found out earlier this year

Makes you wonder how low people can go

No private lawyer does. More likely than not, some sort of government department gave him one.
