    Midnight Sorrow

Discussion in 'Bi-Weekly Poetry Contest Archives' started by christian4lifeks, Apr 28, 2009.

    The darkness falls
    Like rain from a cloud
    Stars twinkle overhead
    I glance at the moon
    It stares down at me
I hear voices in the distance
My shoes go crunch, crunch, crunch
As I walk towards the yelling
I stop and gasp at the scene before me
My mind plays out like a projector
A dark shadow lifts an object
    The moonlight glints off it
I can see it clearly now
    It's a gun
    He aims
I hear a click ashe fires
    A lady screams
    Suddenly all is still
    And so very quiet
The man turns and smiles at me
His smile is crooked and traumatizing
I start to run as he lifts the gun
Slowly he pulls back the trigger
    I gasp and jerk awake
    I am back in bed
    It was a dream
    No a nightmare
When I look out the window I see that face
    I see that twisted smile
    I close my eyes
    And darkness falls
Like the rain from a gloomy cloud
    As sleepovercomes me
    Once again

Move this to the poetry crtiquing section of this site. It is located in the lower box of the main page. To move this, edit the post to say this has been moved and the moderators will quickly delete it. Also you need to critique two other peoples work before you post, but I won't get into detail because this will be locked in a matter of hours and you will be told by Cognito why.
